Actor James Hong has appeared in nearly 700 movies and television shows over the course of his 70-year career. But many people don’t know his name. Marci Gonzalez has the story of the prolific entertainer who was honored this week as the oldest performer to ever receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

James Hong is an icon in every sense of the word. Such a shame more people don’t know his name and the massive impact he’s made in cinema over multiple decades.

He looks wonderful for 93. His performance in Big Trouble in Little China was exceptional. He's never been bad or mediocre, but that role? Exceptional.

i first heard his voice in Mulan and Avatar the Last Airbender and Kung Fu Panda, and then i started to recognize him in his live action work. truly an icon and will always be one.

It's amazing that the affect of his voice is so distinctive, it is a Hollywood trope. And yet, despite being so iconic, most don't recognize his name. I hope this begins a process of recognizing his prolific accomishments in Hollywood film, television and beyond!

I have seen him literally all my life in something or another. I was born in the later 60's. Pretty amazing career and well deserved recognition. Better late than never.

So funny. I was just thinking about him after watching a Bruce Lee movie. I thought that I saw him in Fist of Fury. I love him. He's hilarious in his comedy roles and very talented. He deserves all of the flowers.
