im not a dancer or a dance teacher, yet i understood this was a fusion dance not strictly bharatanatyam. she wasn't at her best but the concept was conveyed like an open book. she's a legend and i admire her capacity to make dance simple for everyone to understand. she's remarkable.

@@visalskumar This is called Naatiya Nadagam in Tamil classic dances. A kind of branch in Bharathanatiyam itself. In which a story will be there, usually from the Epics.

Only south india has women remaining today who understand and perform classical dances. Awesome blend of innovation and tradition. As a north indian i feel Shobhana ji is the epitome of Hindu women’s grace.

That's because much of South India were until recently Hindu kingdoms unlike North Indian areas subjected to centuries of life as dhimmis. Yet, million applauses to the North people for being rooted in Dharma.

Ithaye vera yarachu adi iruntha avangala criticize panni troll pani irupanga. Ivanga panathala joint pain, health issues nu soldranga then wht about the group dancers. The performance was throughout clumsy.. I know she is the best dancer, this is the fusion of bharanatyam and mohiniattam but very difficult to predict the ratio. It doesn't mean that grt dancers can make mistakes. Performing in front of Amma, vyjanthimala, venniradai nirmala is not an easy game🤘home work is more important

Bharatham is an age old golden dance...it is a legendary art in India never disgrace it...some of them misuse dance with shoes ...please avoid this with modern music...this a Diamond one presented by our ancestors ..please protect it....

This is a great performance by shobana as she is embodying the deity Durga and has to change in to the warrior goddess she is known to b e. Beautiful dance and choreography was excellent if not pure bharatanatyam

This is callled Naatiya Nadagam, in classic Tamil culture. In other words, unlike usual Bharathanatiyam which involves mostly dance, a Naatiya Naadagam will also have a story or drama will be there along with Bharathanatiyam.

Imagine her Aunties Padmini or Ragini or Lalita or even Vyjayanthimala or Kumari Kamala or L Vijayalakshmi for that matter even Meenakshi Seshadri would have burnt the dance floor with our hearts on fire for more...that was them and this is now, no doubt Shobana is an accomplished dancer herself this was just average..

What i meant was Shobana is a terrific dancer but her moves in this was average..she reminded me of Hema Malini

For heavens sake this is not pure Bharatham. Aramandi and angashudhi have changed today. Even in past changes were made according to the times. And this is a composite art not pure Bharatjam. We don't have proof for pure dance in India. Please show where there is books 5000 years ago? Hence this beautiful art form is awesome art S art no comparison it is aesthetic to watch Thank you Dhobana.

usha her dance is off rhythm it is so hard to do that only the most experienced dancer can do that kind of rhythm that why this dance is so difficult

All the actors look bored or slightly annoyed.... shobhana is very talented but this was not a good performance and had nothing to do with the aigiri nandini lyrics- this is my opinion as a classical dancer and teacher
