The “beat SMO without playing SMO” challenge solution actually made me lose brain cells but at the same time I became smarter.

The third challenge (Beat SMO without playing SMO) could have been done easier: 1) Take the game (or the original box it was in) 2) Punch it.

so honestly, the difference between him playing grumpy and his usual self is huge. the instant he finished his grumpy run, there was a smile back on his face. I couldnt smile as much as this man does

I think the breath of the wild "all koroks" challenge meant that the the only requirement to beat the run was all koroks. so basically exclude all fun parts of botw and just look around for koroks. sounds epic

I was thinking for the beating Mario without playing it, you'd hand the controller to your room mate and instruct and direct him into beating the game. You would technically not be playing the game, but you would be beating it. I also suppose this would also work for not touching the controller.

For just a sec when you got up for Mario Odyssey without turning on the console, I really hoped you'd go get a copy of The Odyssey and just start reading it

If you have a second switch this could be a fun thing to do, start a speed run on each that are roughly the same length and start a random timer. Whenever the timer goes off pause the game you’re in and switch to the other one.

I don't know what's better, linking to 13:27 and letting people hear him talking about being an exhibitionist, or the fact that his any% is slower than his casual speedrun today...

For once, I have a general challenge for you that **could actually be difficult**. It's really simple: see how Mario Kart Wii has a Mirror mode that lets you drive on a mirrored version of each track? Well, the challenge is to perform your speedruns while only seeing the game's reflection! I don't know if there are any software for you to use to make it convenient, but otherwise you can simply use a big mirror in front of the TV (or computer, device, etc) and stand behind the monitor (TV, computer, device, etc) in order to stare at the mirror. This isn't to be funny or memeish, this is a real challenge for you. And you can repeat it with as many games as you like (to name a few: Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild). So far, you make speedrunning seem fun and enjoyable, and not a super dedicated "24/7 only this game exists in my life" kind of deal. Which is a nice change, and definitely earned you my subscription to your channel! ^-^

The “beat Pokemon without Pokemon” challenge reminds me of a thread I saw on 4chan back when I browsed there. The OP was playing through a weird ROMhack that changed the story and mechanics of Emerald, the most notable of which being the rival having a level 100 pokemon off the bat if you pick May instead of Brendan. Flash forward to the fifth gym(they leveled up their starter to 100 in the first area to beat the rival), and after many bugs due to them picking May, someone came into the thread and, using N pictures to avatarpost, told them to release all their pokemon and only keep the Agumon that they caught(yes, the hack added in Agumon) if they got quads. They eventually did get quads, and the OP had to release all of their mons including the level 100 starter and train the ~level 5 Agumon. They ended up beating Pokemon without any pokemon. That was probably the funniest occurrence I ever had on the site.
