This is a nice Union Division, 4 regiments in one Brigade and three in the other, with divisional artillery and attached cavalry as well as leaders. I like that you have done the ammo wagon and the ambulance and the limbers as well to finish off the Division. Now you need to paint up some additional "markers" (out of ammo, casualties, etc.). I also like your basing (similar to the book, with the light brown dirt and green flocking. Some bases detract from the figures, yours do not. Well done. I would like to see a video on how you do your bases, sowing all the steps. Thank you for posting this.

Thanks for the kind words. I have significantly expanded this force since I posted this video (five years ago). As a club we have also moved to playing Picketts charge instead of Fire and fury. Thanks again. Stig

@@stigofthedump181 Why did you move to Pickett's charge? I am interested to know.

@Captain Nolan it was new and shiny! But then after a few games we just preferred it. We also play Altar of Freedom from littlewars TV, that's a great game for big multi player battles.

@@stigofthedump181 Have you played both Regimental Fire and Fury and Brigade Fire and Fury?

Great paint job! Burnside had some impressive sideburns. :-) He is know for needlessly throwing away troops at Burnside's Bridge and Fredericksburg.

yeah, I know.. but he did have some seriously impressive facial hair!

Frederisksburg was a disaster, sure - but a little known (probably wargamer trivia, the men on the day wouldn't have cared much for the assessment!) fact is he was also the only one to complete his objective at Burnside's Bridge and did so with proportionately less casualties than other commanders on the same field. Burnside is often given slack for that particular engagement but he isn't the one who issued the order - he was carrying it out and on balance did the best he could to achieve it. It was a bloody fortress..and he took it. Shame for the men who had to carry out the actions - war is hell... +1 on the "Burns"... :)

A great looking army, added to others in the club, assuming they are up to your speed, it should look very impressive.

Cheers, it should look pretty good.

Hi nice army, I just bought this set of rules and I am looking for a tutorial. I hope you planning to do a play through in the future. Cheers

Coming back to this video for inspiration for my own 10mm ACW army. What size are your infantry bases?
@stigofthedump1812 жыл бұрын
Hi dan, they are 25mm x 20mm.

I think I’m going to make the jump and do 10mm Pendraken for my ACW. Looking over the website, it doesn’t look like the ratio of standard bearers provided is enough (1 per command group). What did you do to account for the units with two flags? Did you buy extra command packages and just deal with extra figures, or did you specifically request extra flag bearers?
@stigofthedump1814 жыл бұрын
Really sorry for the very late reply, I just got a bunch of command packs and the spare officers and drummers I mixed in on the standard infantry bases.

lazarar not really mate, it was done as part of a big club project, we refought Antitam and a few other battles. I kind of deliberately kept it generic to get more use out of them.

@@stigofthedump181 Thanks, I'm putting together a similar force to fight out the first day at Gettysburg. This helped a ton to get things sorted.
