I was on Ativan ( lorazepam) for only 19 days. I c/ t turkey in December 8,2015 I haven't been the same since. It had been a Nightmare from hell I didn't know what I was taking I didn't a short term use could cause so much pain and suffering to my entire body mind and soul. All I know is that I wasn't like this before. It's been 8 months now I have a lot of depression DR DP no motivation etc. In December I thought I was going to die and I wish for everyday since. I couldn't walk couldn't talk couldn't eat couldn't sleep was shaking so bad I couldn't sit still. It's been the worse thing that has happened to me in my life. People say you heal from this and I have to believe we do.

I am still recovering. This is extremely triggering watching this. I went through 6 months of HELL withdrawal. Let me tell you- I thought I was going to die many times, I prayed to die many times and I had considered suicide many times. I am several weeks off and for ME and a small percentage of others- ALL symptoms got even worse upon complete cessation. This drug is a NIGHTMARE and drs need to stop prescribing it. They had me on 2 benzos for decades.

He’ll get right on it, just as soon as he’s done playing toy soldiers in Gaza and Ukraine, infecting babies with AIDS, causing drought, famine and floods and sending hurricanes and typhoons and tsunamis and earthquakes to various locations all around the world. Don’t question it. His ways are higher than ours, of course. And never mind that you can’t see or hear him... he’s totally real, trust me. You just gotta have faith.

the detox centres have no idea and treat people dependent on this drug like heroin addicts, 10 day detox..The amount of valium she was now taking would mean at least 2 years slow tapering..this poor woman was probably whipped of within a few weeks...It's now 2023 so I assume she has passed.
@addapryce5106 жыл бұрын
The legal action failed because the anxiety syndromes that people experienced before taking the drug were found to be similar or identical once gradual discontinuation had been completed. The senior lawyer in the case, Michael Napier, later gained a degree notoriety and stepped down as president of the Law Society after bringing the practice into disrepute
@futureofmoney35277 ай бұрын
And we’ve learnt that benzodiazepines massively alter the activity of GABA neurotransmitters so that the autonomic system stops exciting them (to induce relaxation). When someone goes cold turkey or tapers in some way, they’ll have way less GABA excitement leading to way more anxiety, like we witnessed in this video.

@palmlessprayer38592 жыл бұрын
Yes they did. Valium has an extremely long half life so it’s frequently used to taper off shorter acting benzodiazepines as you don’t need to dose as frequently. Valium is still used for tapering today

An important video, but it does not reveal the outcome of the lawsuit. We need a similar suit in the US. I would, however, disagree that ativan is the worst of this class of drugs. They are equally dangerous and addictive. Let's file a class action lawsuit and/or a product liability suit.

@@halfretarded931they do. On their own (if not mixed with alcohol or other CNS depressants) they are incredibly hard to overdose on to the point of dying, and for very brief spells a small RX isn’t likely to do any harm to most people. It’s when you find the doctors who are totally cool with daily use for long periods that you need to watch out.

Does anybody know what is stronger ? Benzos or barbiturates?
@andrews63413 жыл бұрын
Barbituates for sure and a lot more dangerous. It is virtually impossible to OD from Ativan or Valium alone. That is why they are used more than Barbs for the last 45 years or so.

Yes. Ativan is ten times stronger than diazepam and leaves the body very quickly. They had to give her a much higher equivalent dose of Valium because Ativan leaves the system much more quickly than Diazepam builds up to halt the Ativan withdrawal.
