In this video, we take a comprehensive look at the life and legacy of Adam Faith, a man whose influence extends far beyond his hit songs. Born as Terence Nelhams Wright in 1940, Adam Faith rose to fame in the late 1950s and quickly became a household name with a string of top-five hits. But his talents didn't stop at music; he also had a successful acting career and ventured into various business pursuits, including managing other artists and even launching a financial TV channel.
We delve into the complexities of his life, from his early days in Acton, West London, to his rise to stardom and the challenges he faced along the way. His life was a journey filled with highs and lows, marked by both professional success and personal struggles. Despite the setbacks, including financial woes and a complicated love life, Adam Faith remained a man of ambition and drive, qualities that have left a lasting impression on the entertainment industry.
The video also explores the emotional turmoil experienced by his wife, Jackie Faith, who had to navigate the complexities of being married to a man who was, in many ways, two different people. From the betrayal she felt upon discovering his affair to the financial struggles she faced after his passing, Jackie's story adds another layer to the complex tapestry that is Adam Faith's life.
We also discuss the enduring impact Adam Faith has had on the entertainment industry. While specific quotes from celebrities influenced by Faith are hard to come by, his impact on the industry is undeniable. Musicians like Cliff Richard and even the Beatles couldn't completely eclipse the star that was Adam Faith. His style of beat ballad may have seemed outmoded at the time, but it laid the groundwork for the emotive storytelling that artists like Ed Sheeran employ today.
This video offers a nuanced look at a man who was more than just a pop idol; he was a trendsetter and a pioneer whose influence can still be felt today. Whether it's in the emotive storytelling of modern ballads, the seamless transition from music to acting, or the entrepreneurial spirit that many artists now embody, the legacy of Adam Faith lives on. So sit back and join us as we explore the many layers of Adam Faith's life and legacy.

Yes I was a faith follower, we went to see him at the castaways in Bradford street Birmingham. For some reason we were sitting on the stairs between the casino and the entertainment area. You can imagine our surprise when Adam was coming down the stairs alone decided to sit down with us for a chat. After chatting for a while he said do you fancy a game of cards. We were beside ourselves, going into the dressing rooms we were surprised to see Peter Noone of Herman’s hermits and I think Mike berry was there also. We stayed for about half an hour playing cards and were amazed that they played for pennies, no big stakes. Very enjoyable. This was somewhere between 1964/5 can’t remember exactly.

Yes, he said that nobody wants to hear my old hits now, but someone told him we all do as they bring back such great memories to many of us, that you owe it to us all to sing them now and then. He came from that time of Cliff Richard, Billy Fury, Marty Wilde and many more that were home grown and were our answer to Pat Boone, Elvis and others from the US.

I saw him play the lead role in Alfie at the Nottingham theatre Royal,he was so good..My husband named our son Adam and I think it was because he was a fan of his music.I remember his financial column in the Daily Mail and he was great with Zoe Wanamaker in Love Hurts.Still missed today 😢but it’s great that I can see him on the Talking Pictures tv channel in Budgie,so handsome and he played the cheeky chappie to the full .He just had to smile at the girls.

I'm 64 so was only a child at the height of Adam's career, but even then, I fancied him like mad. I loved the series "Budgie". I loved his music too, and my sister often plays it on her radio show, "Angel Radio" in Havant, Portsmouth, UK. They play music up to 1969. It's very sad that he died at only 62, and very sad for his wife.

I met Adam Faith more than 25 years ago in a Corporate setting - it would surprise many of his followers to know how/why. He wanted to invest in a very well known burger chain! He was such a handsome, down to earth and lovely guy. Although, much slimmer and shorter than I was expecting him to be. He never was granted a franchise as it was a Owner/Operator enterprise and I imagine that he never envisioned himself flipping burgers, LOL!

I was an Adam Faith fanatic from the age of 9. Bought all his 45's and e.p.'s.....Because my father was in the orchestra I was even lucky enough to see the Sunday afternoon rehearsal for his appearance on live tv that night...either Sunday Night at the London Palladium...or the Prince of Wales theatre...I was 10 at the time so cannot remember exactly...I do remember his band The Worried Men were backing him on stage...a great talent

No he isn’t remembered today as a trendsetter but he is loved by my age group, we remember his great hits, I asked members in all three choirs I belong too if they remember him or his songs and every one I asked remember him, I saw him at the NME awards singing at Wembley Arena London. Also I think I’m correct in saying he was the first singer to be arranged and directed by the great John Barry. They came from a time when you could sing their songs and would you believe this understand what they were singing about.

Adam Faith was quite one of my favs; so handsome. I'm puzzled because for some reason I seem to remember reading he died while watching TV and verbalised at it as he was a bit ticked off with it. Since that time I've always thought that is exactly how it went down. I didn't hear it in a comment somewere either, as I'm sure it was in the paper or a magazine. Perhaps somebody else might remember that, but probably not. I have to remember that was 20 years ago.

My dad was a film editor and had an assistant, Terry Nelhams and Terry said one day: John I'm leaving and I'm going to be a pop star. Dad said he was great and sent Xmas cards for years, he did an amazing 10 year deal with the income tax people so could be good with money at times...remember his office, very swish in Chelsea.

Adam Faith was popular in his day but like a lot of 50's pop singers was seen as 'old hat' once the Beatles came along. i watched your vid and i can not see any pop singers today thinking i will plan my career on Adam's blueprint in fact i guess he's unknown to the latest batch of pop stars, nice vid though.

He was one of the 60s best performers. His music, usually written by Johnny Worth (Les Vandyke) and played by the John Barry Orchestra, was second to none and to say he was a massive hit would be an understatement. When the Merseybeat era arrived he reinvented himself with a rock group, The Roulettes and later became an actor , a manager and a financial journalist. It was sad that Jackie (his wife) was left penniless. His early records, Poor Me, Who Am I, to me were the best.
