Adam visits the prop workshop of Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire to check out and inspect the newly upgraded Proton Packs and Neutrona Wand that will make their debut in the upcoming film! Ben Hall, head of the propmaking department, walks Adam through the upgrades of the pack and what his team had to fabricate and modify to build the hero and stunt packs for filming!

If you close your eyes, it sounds like Michael Caine is explaining proton packs to Adam... 😂 While I love the yellow-on-black color scheme, I'm, personally, not a fan of a the new "thong" bumper, but to each their own! That all being said, thanks for covering the props! Can't wait to see more!

"It's always been there, just not been painted"... You know what- that actually fits. The first movie they were basically untested equipment. The second movie they were super busy for a while (meaning no real time to refine/finalize their equipment), then work tapered off. They had no real motivation (or money) to refine their equipment. As long as it kept working. I like it!

I'm loving how excited Adam is to be there. I always feel blessed to be living in an age where behind the scenes segments are available to view. Ghostbusters and Back to the Future were huge parts of my teenage years.

Ben is out here living the DREAM! To be props master on such an iconic production would be unbelievably awesome! Oh, what I'd give to have that man's wealth of knowledge and experience. What a goldmine must live inside Ben's head. I think it's the part of Adam's job I am most jealous of. He gets to meet the most amazing, skilled, inventive, knowledgeable people in the most diverse range of positions! I'd just want to be in their presence to absorb and learn. GAH!!! So cool. So very, very cool!!!!

He is brilliant to work with. So many stories and so much knowledge. I just try my best to absorb as much as i possibly can every chance i get. All the Vets on the team were like that (i mean, everyone on the team was but they have the most to give ;) ). All wanting to pass on everything they have picked up over the years. No gate keeping.

looks great, i love that they kept the original look and just added slight mods to it instead of a complete new looking pack. Id like to know, like most, if the changes are explained,in the movie and for a reason or are just done for an aesthetic reason.

I can't believe that they used some out-of-the-box Haslab Packs for the movie. There is a shot going around of Phoebe wearing a Haslab pack with the Cyclotron lid off. I know they modded them a little bit, but it's still cool to see a Pack I have being used in my favorite movies.

@@BenMillen No thanks, they can't afford me. And you're right, I *am* a font of information about the packs. I'm the reason why fans had access to the heatsinks and connectors used on the Phoebe pack, as well as insight into other details HPR added to it.

@thomasbecker9676 I prefer to look at this new props better than the ones from that atrocity movie from 2016, I only saw the TV commercials from that 2016 movie, I didn't saw it and I never will, I don't even call it Ghostbusters (all female), I just call it "the atrocity from 2016" whenever I have to mention it, what I love the most it's that Ghostbusters Afterlife and Ghostbusters Frozen Empire don't acknowledge the existence of that crap from 2016, Ghostbusters Frozen Empire it's the 4th Ghostbusters movie, the fat actress mccarthy from that movie got pissed off about her movie being ignored by the Ghostbusters franchise and I love it.

Omg without planing on it I’ve made my old pack like they have here. I made the wasp strips for my powercell with just fits over the groves that are there and held it in place with a single bolt and Velcro.

I was just thinking that, if I designed it, all the lights and movement would be DMX controllable... And then he said they do EXACTLY that!!! LOVE it! When I built my first hand-made electric guitar, I put RGB LED's in the fretboard, and they are DMX controllable too ;)

It is possible he already has because this was filmed early last summer and the movie comes out next week so chances are. He already has made a video for his channel that he could potentially release at some point in the near future, but if he hasn't made anything yet. He will there's no doubt about that

Rocker switched power, mil-spec bayonet mount electrical connector for the wand harness, toggle switches, spade-lug/eyelet lug connected wires, rubber connection boots, some corrugated harness protectors, padded web belts with side-release connectors.

It's because they got the cheapest people they could for the new packs. I think they're actually using Haslab packs in some scenes.

Well, if you watch the video again, they explain the difference between the old packs and the new ones like where the power switch is the whole box area, there is more around it more squared off than the old ones or something. But also in universe, the packs probably have other upgrades to it. They may pack a bigger punch. There could be a lot of functpenalty that's been added to the new packs in universe.
