Adam gets up close and person with one of the famous (collared) elephants at Mana Pools (we were not sure if it was Fred Astaire or Boswell).

These two elephants are unique in that they go onto their hind legs to reach up into trees - similar to the way some circus elephants would be trained to (but this is of course self-taught).
Disclaimer: Mana Pools is very unique in the sense that they allow visitors to get out of their cars to observe and photograph wildlife. But this is not a license to bother animals. One should always observe them from a distance. When animals seem uncomfortable with the distance you are keeping, rather move off and give them some space.
