They were probably thinking of making a second part set in modern times, so the age would be about 35 for the teenagers and about 55 for Madam Web, thus making her more similar to the original character from the comics.

It's really "The Spider Society: The Lore Reboot" if you know nothing about the lore reboot then it would be confusing. You know the memes where the guy wakes up half way through the movie and is totally lost? That's going to be everyone that watches this movie because the original arc is as big as the Star Wars universe while trying to use the worst characters to summarize all of it in one movie.

It’s just obvious signs of corporate greed at this point. They’re just churning out literal garbage to keep the Spider-Man license so Disney doesn’t get it back. If they truly loved the fans they would either dedicate themselves to actually producing quality Spider-Man ips and if they can’t then they would give it back to marvel studios.

I bought the same glasses when I was 20. I thought they were cool in the store but wore them once at a park and retuned them. I have terrible taste… and even I knew they sucked.

Sony must have known this was trash before they released it, but Morbius and Venom 2 were awful to so no accounting for tatse. The whole Spiderverse with out Spiderman has been a bit of a disaster, some people actually gave this a positive review, they must have terrible taste😅

Why didn't they capture the villain? He was standing over Cassie's mom after he shot her holding a gun. When the "spider tribe's man" arrived the villain was literally holding a smoking gun... But they let him run away under his human strength... When they clearly could have stopped him with their "spider abilities". Captured him tied him up, Cassie could have still been born, then we would have gotten a different villain... A better villain

I read that the three girls are supposed to become the three Spider Women in the sequel. If you cast Sydney Sweeney, she should do some nude scenes like in "Anyone but You" which also came out this year. Instead, that character was supposed to be underaged while the actress is 27.

I've sometimes wondered why people keep going to these movies. Then I heard you dis Gods of Egypt, which I loved. Why do I love it when everyone says it's shite? When I was young, Jason and the Argonauts and Clash of the Titans, with Ray Harryhausen effects, were my favourite movies. So, while Wrath of the Titans and Gods of Egypt are far inferior to those classics in almost every way, I just like mythology, so I enjoyed them anyway. I think that's what's happening with Marvel/Sony movies. Audiences know the movie is second rate, but it's a second rate example of a genre they enjoy. It seems that Sony will make up for their losses with the Pepsi sponsorship.

I always hated Madame Webb in the comics. She is one of the predecessors of the idea that Peter Parker is destined to be Spider-man. No he’s not. The whole point of Peter Parker’s origin story was that anyone could’ve been bitten by the spider and it’s the experiences he goes through with them powers that make him the Spider-man everyone loves. The whole idea that Peter was destined to be the Spider-man removes all agency in the choices he makes and the things that he does. Spider-geddon is still crap by the way. So yeah, having a character from story lines not many people liked in the comics is not a good look for Sony.
