Rear Shock Removal - KTM, Husqvarna, GasGas dirt bikes with linkage rear suspension.
We take you through the process of removing the rear shock from KTM, Husqvarna, and GasGas dirt bikes with linkage rear suspension.
We get quite a few calls from customers that are confused or struggling with rear shock removal. However, the procedure is quite easy once you understand some simple steps.

While your bike is disassembled, we recommend inspecting and greasing the linkage and swingarm pivot bearings.

Thanks for the video. I always thought that I had to remove the silencer. Now I have one less step to do.

Good job Matt. Well done. I have very much appreciated all the tech help you have given me and fellow riders with our Kreft RC suspension components. If you race multiple disciplines on KTM/Husqvarna there is no finer suspension upgrade than Kreft RC. BTW, that baby blue color scheme and Kreft graphics are outstanding.

I appreciate people putting videos like this together, BUT... you made this way more complicated than it needed to be. Pull the mudflap, undo the linkage, undo the top bolt...the shock will drop strait down. With the mudflap removed, pull the shock through the opening. I completed the process in about 10 min and only had to remove 3 bolts (plus the mudflap screws).

I have never serviced the linkage or swing arm so prob good to grease it all anyway but that’s just me

is it relatively straight forward to replace the bumper stop - mine has perished

I don't do all that work to remove the swingarm. I remove the upper & lower shock bolt, pull the silencer (two small bolts), the seat and tank, and raise the subframe a bit and shock comes out the the top
