Diving into my belt pouch kit in this video. A great way to keep tools or items you are going to need quick access to regularly.

Corporal Kelly sent me. Love the Pathfinder Steel. I hardly ever sub anyone who doesn’t carry a flint and steel kit. It’s been my first choice for fire making since 1968. And I prefer a glass lens too, those plastic fresnels just feel too cheap for me. 👍🏻👍🏻 Semper Fi

Appreciate you coming by. Yeah I usually use my knife and chert for it, if I'm chosing to use that method. I used to have a glass lens but lost it and just haven't replaced it.

Corporal Kelly recommended this channel. It was a good recommendation. I would add some bank line to the kit.

Dunno why people have to be down on your style Paul. You do you and if it works you're good to go. That's why I sub to all the SRO folks. You all talk about the same skills but with your own perspective on different topics. Take care man.

If you are going “high visibility” with something like a lighter… black you can’t see at night. White you can’t see in snow. Red and orange you can’t see in the fall when the leaves are also that color. The tennis ball color is a very good choice. It was specifically chosen because the human eye picks it up well (as you would want and expect in a tiny ball going very fast that you’re trying to hit). Personally I think blue is the color to choose. Certain shades of blue… you will hardly ever encounter in the woods besides on birds feathers or other very rare circumstances. Just my two cents.

use the wasted space in the altoids tin . fill it with char cloth/fatwood get rid of the mag glass and get a fresnel lens from amazon a 3 pack cost about 5 bucks, they take up less space and they are flexable and make a great fire starter. I think I'll sub, I want to watch you grow .....good job bro

I generally have either char cloth, fatwood shavings or birch bark in my tins. I've used those fresnel lens. For me, I prefer the mag lens but it's not a must because I do also have one on my compass if I needed to use it. I appreciate the sub and view bro!

The title of your video should state this is a fire kit, it may help people find this. Good video, great gear. I carry a bit less for my fire kit because the older I get the less weight I want on me. Good job.

It's 99% fire kit...should probably call it a belt pouch fire kit. I think I'd take out half the fire related stuff and add some other stuff...compass...heavy duty bag and water purification tabs...an opinel #8..

Just Subbed; good stuff. Quick question, do the placement of the pouch impede access to your from left pocket any?
@adaptablesurvival

I normally run it either in front of or just behind my left pocket on my belt.

Honestly, I don't use it anymore. As I've gone through my training, I found I like to have as little as possible hanging from my belt and pack.

It seems to me that 90% ( _arguably more_ ) of the " _items you are going to need quick access to regularly_ " are redundancies. You admit that yourself. To each their own, but my belt space is reserved for *_actual_* quick access items . . . not their back-ups. I can see you're relatively new so I'm not busting your chops. Just giving you food for thought. Keep at it. That's how we get better.

This video was from about 3 years ago. I honestly don't use the belt kit anymore, as I found it not as useful, for myself, as I went through my training.
