I workout at home. Been in a gym over 40 yrs but past 2 years at home. All I have is my bodyweight (285 #) 2-20 # DBs and one 30# kettle bell. I absolutely love my KB for the shoulder press. Great video men.

I was excited to try these today at the gym. Wow, did they feel good. In my 25+ years of experience, I never tried these even once. I actually like these more than both, barbell and dumbell presses. I can tell that I'll see some gains within a month easy. This video channel was a great idea fella's. Thanks for always pushing us out of our comfort zones.

Great video! Thanks guys. I love all the “gurus” in the comments that all “know better” but don’t put any of their own “know it all” content on the tube!

One good cue on these to be sure your tracking the shoulder in the proper position is to take your arm and pretend your trying to grab the back of the collar on your shirt then depress the shoulder

Otherwise great advice but you shouldn't flare your elbows out that much in the rack position. Having your elbows as close to the body as possible makes it all more stable.
@MindPumpTV7 жыл бұрын
Fiddle Bender not sure where you see his elbow flared in the rack position . I Don't think Justin could keep that bell any closer to his midline than he already did .
@fiddlebender887 жыл бұрын
Mind Pump TV Maybe I perceived it wrong. Justin is probably just so much more bulkier than the russian gireviks I'm used to watching. Well, regardless, great videos on KBs. We need more people with your kind of take on them. Addressing the benefits of KBs while being realistic about their shortcomings. An amazing tool but not almighty!

Does it hurt everyone's forearm from where the bell sits?
@lawrencebartos6 жыл бұрын
It shouldn't. If it does your not getting the KB into the spot properly. Yes you are going to feel the weight but it should not hurt
@travelthrumylens885 жыл бұрын

I deal with this as well. I think there is more circumference on a heavier kettlebell so that it sits on the shoulder/chest region easier. On the way up this dude seems to drop his hand back extending the wrist.

I'm very sceptical on the not shrugging part. It goes against every bit of conventional lifting Form, is not full Rom and predisposes to impingement
@gdog3finally4 жыл бұрын
Actually it has helped me. Unpacking and extending causes the teres major to pull apart the scapula too much. I had this problem with standard bench pressing with to much extension. Packing the shoulder on an overhead press stabilizes the shoulder, avoiding impingement.
@batman-sr2px3 жыл бұрын
@@gdog3finally so what did you do in the bench press basically pack the shoulders?

CAUSE THE PLAYERS GONNA PLAY, PLAY, PLAY, PLAY, PLAY AND THE HATERS GONNA HATE, HATE, HATE, HATE, HATE
@muccmaster5 жыл бұрын
Why would you depress your scapula on an overhead press motion? You're reducing the amount of space inside the shoulder joint for the muscles and tendons to move without smashing into bone and causing impingement. Most of the smartest people in the industry advise you to shrug at the top.
@hieronymuswiesenkraut36285 жыл бұрын
My hardstyle kettlebell instructor told us to push that extra bit into the air THEN pack the shoulders again and move down.

Funny watching this to "Shake It Off." haha I never use kettlebells; I've never liked them. But I might just give this a shot. Our meager gym at my work has a single kettlebell at 35 pounds. Not super heavy, but perhaps good to practice this move a bit. Also, I'm totally digging that opening.
