Add Video in Motion to MMI with VCDS. Audi C7 A6 S6 RS6 A7 S7 RS7.

In this video we add video in motion to the MMI of a 2014 Audi A7 3.0 TDI. This VCDS mod allows you to watch video while the vehicle is in motion above 5mph. This allows you to have DVD’s playing on the MMI screen on the car.
Validated that this works on the C7 platform. Also possible it could work on other Audi’s. If you test this on a non-C7 platform, and it works, please add a comment in the comment section.
If you would like me to add other VCDS mod videos, please add them in the comment section below. I have also been kicking around the idea of creating some 4.0t tuning videos.

What is the adaptation in the newer VCDS ? it does't use "48" like the old days.

I list the values you need to get from your serial number in the video from advanced ID. It’s like 6,11,13… I can’t remember the rest off the top of my head. It’s unique to your vehicles serial number.

it's only works to 2014y, any one know how to enable VIM 2015-2017?

I believe it works on 2013-2015 as that is the C7 platform. Pretty sure 2016-2018 is going to require a different procedure as that is the C7.5 platform, and it has a different MMI. I'll definitely post a video if I get my hands on one, and get it working successfully.

Does this only work if my car reads CDs parked? My car doesn’t play CD’s at all at the moment is that an issue? 🤔

Ahh… a 2017 would be a C7.5. It for sure worked on my 2013 Audi S6, and a 2014 Audi A7 3.0t. Good data point though. Bummer it doesn’t work on the C7.5 RS7

I haven't attempted to get it working on the C8 platform yet. I'd need to get my hands on one, and take a look at the code. As soon as I do, I'll post a video if it's possible.

I tried on my A6 ‘16 Tdi and when arrive to the channel changing I don’t get the same thing, but get to choose from a drop menu

Yeah. You have a C7.5 (2016-2018). There was a change made to the MMI. I’ll get my hands on a C7.5, sort it out, and make a video about it just as soon as I can.

these steps only works on Audis with 2G and 3G. 4G coding is different and will not work for models 2017 and older.

I performed this on a 2014. So it clearly works earlier than 2017.

@@themanleygarage like I said a 2014 has 3G technology and it will work. But your steps will not work on models 4G and older.

That’s not what you said. You said “…4G coding is different and will not work for models 2017 and older.” While both you and I understand the point you were trying to make, it may mislead someone who does not understand the difference between 2G, 3G, and 4G models into believing this “will not work on models 2017 and older.” Do do you see what I am getting at here?
