It is so much more fun to give hats away than it is to sell them! My sister and I have been loom knitting and machine knitting for years, and give me them away, and there's just no feeling better than taking a big bag of hats to Teen Challenge or the warming shelter or the women's shelter or the hospital. It's kind of addicting! God bless you for that!

Surely it is. To be comfortable enough with money and have the ability to even consider it vs. fighting for survival with handmade stuff, of course that first is more fun.

Enjoyed your video very much my Addi Express Kingsize will be here next week was nice to see a Gentlemen knit and then put your hat on I have been concerned the hats will be big enough for a Man. I crochet hats to donate, mostly to Cancer Patients but really to anyone that needs one. Thanks again appreciate you taking the time to do your video have a wonderful 2024.

Same to you! That machine is fun I stock up then hand them out. Check out the Infiniti scarf after you get the hat down. It’s really a lot of fun and super easy to make on the machine and you can make matching sets they make for great gifts

Your hats are beautiful, and I love that you donate them. And your little helper there is adorable!!! Oh yeah, that little line there in your stitches in the white of the hat, looks like it might be from tucked stitches. If you haven't come across it before you can find some good tutorials about them here on KZfaq that explain how to fix them.

@TumaTime
@TumaTime 15 минут бұрын
@@caroldudden533 hello you only need the one hand to crank he would just need somehow to keep tension on the yarn, going into the machine and the set up row you need to crank and move the yarn back-and-forth so the set up row might be a little challenging for you but once you get that, all we have to do is crank and keep on. I’m sure there’s a way you could figure out all the best to you. Good luck.

Hi Margaret. The Addi seems to work best with acrylic yarns for me, or worsted weight 4. When you have issues always check and see if it's your yarn. These machines can be pretty finicky about the yarns you use. I've had my Addi for about four years now, and I'm still learning. If you search on here for dropped, or tucked stitches on knitting machines, they are pretty easy to fix. I have found some pretty good tutorials. Best of luck to you.

Cliff, that looks really great! Fun! And like a very cool machine. I am super fond of cottage industry type small machines. I could knit some socks for homeless folks perhaps, or others. That's a great way to create! Is that natural yarn? Can you do different diameters using fewer needles, say for children's hats? What an exciting combination of creating and giving! Oh, not to be rude, but you might want to look up the difference between what I think is called a square knot, and two half-hitch knots. I think the way the knotting goes, a square knot will hold fast where the others unravel. I wonder if half a drop of super glue at the knot end might be good? It dries hard though, so if it is pressed flat, it gets sharp. Maybe rtv silicone? lol Do the knots hold fine as they are? I'm thinking of the top knots, not in the body of the hat. Long comment! lol Thank you!
@TumaTime

Hi yes it also does panels you go back and forth instead of keep going round and round I know about the other knot not sure why I didn’t do it Stay safe and warm ✌️

I found that 120 rows were perfect for adult hats. I've made hundreds and hundreds of them for charity, for the cancer ward, local women's shelter, etc. They loved the hats. I always did the softest yarns for the cancer ward, and sometimes, a nurse would come pick them up on her way to work. I have 2 tote boxes full of them now that I was looking to donate somewhere. I got myself one of those little electric attachments because my bad wrist couldn't handle all the cranking.

Hi, does your Addi work with a medium 4 weight yarn? Mine does not. I bought a lot of yarn 4 medium in the States and my Addi does not like it. Suggestion: Pulling and stretching the tube after you take it off the machine is essential for a more even look of the stitches.

Hi, yes, if you you use thinner yarn your hat will turn out smaller. Also the tension regulates the size of the hats. More tension, smaller hat and less rounds. 100 for children.
