In this video we go over the process of adding cruise control to your 99-07 ford superduty truck. It’s a relatively simple process. Cost varies but for around $300 you can upgrade your truck to have cruise control. From the programming to steering wheel and clock spring swap, we go over the entire process step by step!

FYI: 7.3s don't need any programming (at least my 2000 didn't) I added it to mine and all I needed was the steering wheel with buttons, and the clock spring. Then there's a plug under the master cylinder that's blanked off that I jumped, the cruise trucks have a redundant brake pressure switch on the master cylinder. After that, it immediately functioned as normal, no programming necessary

Does auto or manual matter when doing this?

@@jakewise2033 not sure. A factory setup with a manual should have a clutch switch to deactivate cruise if you press the clutch pedal. I don't know if the manual trucks are pre wired for that, or if it'll work without it. I only have experience with the auto.

Didn't know there was a thing with super duty without cruise. Every 06 I've had has already had factory cruise installed. 🤔

I feel your pain!! Haha that’s a lot more involved unfortunately, you are better off just buying a different truck that already has it :(

I was just looking into adding cruise control into my 03. I found a kit for 2002-04 diesels and I believe I do not need to reprogram, just need the steering wheel and clock spring year specific

That definitely sounds possible. In that case it makes me think this can only be done 02-07 and might exclude the 99-01 trucks.

Hi Left Lane, appreciate your content! Asking your advice here.. I've got a 2006 6.0 with over 250k miles.... its been partially bulletproofed... when I think it through, I'm thinking it doesn't make sense to spend on performance mods because of the mileage. What are your thoughts? Is there a company that sells different levels of "built" engines? Wondering if I should just replace the engine... currently it's running fine, no issues...
