What is Junk Journal January?
#JunkJournalJanuary is a free month-long junk journaling challenge to inspire you to create in your art journal. A lovely page. I will add my ruffle to the bottom otherwise it will interfere with my closure. Not a prompt that is up my alley, but I will give it a go! TFS. 🙏🥰

I used fabric from a robe I saved of my Mom's when she passed to make a fabric pocket on one side and a piece of paper i made to look like faux leather with a lace side pocket on the other. The tag for that side was a picture of my Mom in the robe which tied the two pages together. I added a quote about the fabric of love never fading on the page with the fabric pocket and a tag with sari silk sewn on it. This challenge has been a real blessing to me. Thank you for running it.

My sister was killed at the end of 2020. I got to spend time in her sewing studio and could take anything I wanted to. I now have pieces of fabric that I remember her using, notions and all kinds of things. They are all in a drawer waiting for me to get enough inspiration to do a junk journal dedicated to her. We were similar, but very different. We could discuss different projects for hours. We spent hours and hours in fabric stores. I’m so glad you had a picture of her in the robe. So sweet. I am using a basket/tote to keep all the scraps from this journal. I want to make tags and paperclips. Having paper scraps that already match will be helpful

I don’t generally use fabric either. Ended up using lace, gingham ribbon and a silk ribbon

I have used fabric scraps to patchwork pages, fabric ribbons and trims and even some fabric yo yo embellishments my mom had made. Some pages turn out more interesting than others, but I like trying different processes. Sometimes I partially design a page and later go back with stitching, buttons, beads or sequins to complete the page. It is my first time participating and I am enjoying it! 🙂👍🏼

I use ribbons and lace. I also use fabric ruffles and fabric yo-yos. I use scraps for pages tabs and on tags. Thank you for doing this challenge. I have totally enjoyed this so much!!!

I am creating houses for each day of this challenge. I made a house out of scrap fabric. I like the results. I don’t like each house/page that I have created and have toyed with the idea of going back to redo some of my houses. I love the ruffled ribbon/fabric you added. I don’t usually add fabric or ribbon to my junk journal pages.

You fixed it! When you started I didn’t like it either, but I had faith in you. lol. Omg that very cool fabric trim! How wonderful! What was it about the color of that green. I love green usually, but somehow I felt my eyes were being yanked back and forth from the green on the right and on the left. Ok I have entered into junk journal la la land. lol. I’m all better now. lol. Hugs, treen 💕💕💕

Fabric is not something I use much. I did enjoy this prompt though. 😃👍🏼 I don't particularly like MOST of my pages in my Junk Journal that I'm doing this challenge in.... BUT I'm still having a lot of fun and I love that it's getting me to use my stuff. Also, a lot of my pages, I like the idea I had for them - but my results didn't work too well, but I might revisit some of those idea in my art journal, or in a future Junk Journal. 😊👍🏼 I love the fabric edge you added, and I especially like that side of the page. 😊👍🏼
