I just LOOOOVE fabric - and have been making some ruffles for junk journalling today. No need for any special tools - this is simple glue stick and scissors kind of thing. But of course, you can add whatever embellishment you like. Please let me know what you think of this project.

If you stitch with the largest stitch on the sewing machine, you can gather the strip by pulling 1 thread

Love it.I would not have thought to use a glue stick to do the ruffle, I think it would be less messy than wet glue.

Hi is this a better method than sewing with a machine? Also I didn’t understand what kind of paper to use for the strips. Do you use scrapbook paper is thick or computer paper? Does it matter? Tfs great tutorial love it….
@WishesandWeeds
@WishesandWeeds 9 ай бұрын
I don't know that it is "better" - just an option for ruffles if you don't have a machine or you want to make a ruffle for a journal that is already constructed. I believe I used strips cut from a file folder. Cardstock would be just fine.

I tried this today and wow it worked except for one of my pieces of fabric, it just would not stick. I'm going to wash the fabric and see if it makes any difference. Thank you, new subscriber now ☺️

Wishes and Weeds oh gosh, I'm a new sewer or I should say a regurgitated one ( my mother passed my sewing course in high school and I have bobbin phobia!!) I have no clue about fabrics, I thought it was cotton but it was also in a box I found in my garage!! I'll try washing and see 😳
