Adding upgrades to our 10-year-old Wood Mizer LT35 sawmill

Welcome back to the mill!
In today's video we are going to be doing an upgrade to our 10-year-old Wood Mizer LT35 sawmill. The upgrade we are doing is not recommended by Wood Mizer for safety reasons. We are adding a second battery in our hydraulic control box to power our hydraulics at all times.

Another great video guys. I took your advice and bought extra roller guides and a few other extras 2 1/2 weeks ago when we picked up our LT35. Oh by the way it only took me 2 1/2 weeks to join the hit the mill club LOL. Thanks again guys keep them coming

I added an Anderson connector for mine outside the hydraulic box to tie into a battery bank of 2 deep cycle batteries I also have charged by a 100 watt solar panel which also powers an inverter since my millshed is out in the woods away from power. Best mod I ever did. The panel keeps all batteries topped off when I’m not milling. Mine’s a 2016 with the original battery. I’m also a hobby miller now, only have a couple hundred hours on this one. It was an upgrade from my original I bought new in 1993.

Thanks alot for the video. I want to do this to my lt40 because I'm a one man operation and I always off bear to the rear of the mill, and the mill head is always in the way.

How are you going to balance the charge to both batteries? Or is that a non issue? Would it not have been cost effective to add two more brass strips to the length of the mill? I own an LT 40 and understand why you want the hydraulics to work to the end.

Balancing the batteries Is not an issue plus the extra battery really helps when the mill is back home and your using the Hydraulic functions. Thx for watching
