On April 13, 2022, the National Network to Eliminate Disparities in Behavioral Health (the NNED) National Facilitation Center and SAMHSA's Office of Behavioral Health Equity hosted this virtual roundtable, in partnership with the Center of Excellence for LGBTQ+ Behavioral Health Equity.
This NNED Virtual Roundtable focused on how organizations are responding to the complex behavioral health needs of racially/ethnically diverse LGBTQ+ communities. Panelists discussed the impacts of trauma and adverse mental health conditions associated with intersectional identities, and how to build affirming practices and environments.
A special thank you to the panelists Judy Weeks, Dr. Myeshia Price, and Richard Zalvidar for sharing their experiences during the virtual roundtable and for the important work they're doing to support racially/ethnically diverse LGBTQ+ communities and their behavioral health. Thank you as well to Chyenne Mallinson and Dr. Mary Roary for welcoming all in to this space, Dr. Angela Weeks for setting the stage and her contributions to the discussion, and Dr. Suganya Sockalingam for her facilitation. Thank you to all of the participants who helped to contribute to the rich dialogue!
