the reason why i cant get over with this song is because of the meaning of chasing pavemeents my friend told me. Chasing pavements itself means trying to achieve something that already destined to failure, usually as a result of blind hope, or pointless hope. The phrase of “chasing pavements” refers to following the pavements aimlessly

Your so right! I can’t get what your saying through my head though . I wish it was easy to stop chasing what’s destined to failure but it’s hard to stop. A whole issue I have with my ex and I already know it’s gna end how it always ends with me getting g hurt but here I am hoping it won’t end badly here I am like a fucken idiot ! The story behind this song is amazing though :) She was just thrown out by her ex boyfriend, and while running down the street, the lyrics just came to her and she recorded it on her phone right then and there.

I lost my big sister to domestic violence some years back now. She was such a beautiful person and a wonderful mother. She was my music bestie, and I know how much Adele's music meant to her. Every time I listen to her music it's like Makaila is right there with me and I get all choked up. It's the most bittersweet feeling I've yet encountered in my 36 years.

This was the FIRST Adele song I ever heard. I'll never forget, my mom was watching some late night show and called me the room to listen this to this. We both sat in awe and agreed that she was going to blow up. 10+ years later here we are. Absolutely beautiful!

They speak to everyone regardless of race, gender etc… because they speak on the human experience and all the complexities in between it. The heartbreak, the joy, the laughs, grief, childhood. Sara - Of course, i didn't mean in any way to suggest otherwise. It's just that life experience significantly heightens your value of relationships, love and loss and as someone who has been very happily married for 20 years I still find it surprising that someone of 19 (her age when she wrote this song) could absolutely NAIL the very deepest emotions in such a way. Like I suggested, she has a staggering and prodigious talent - proven by her continued musical excellence. I guess it also means that we older individuals should NEVER underestimate the younger members of society!

That was my 14 yr old self when I had a huge crush on a guy friend of mine. Eventually I knew for sure he wouldn't like me along with having a gf at the time (even though he did send a little bit of mixed signals to me). Long story short word got out to him about me. He didn't really care. After feeling hurt at least it gave me some sense to move on and not waste my time. Now I'm happy and following a golden path with my bf, the love of my life; who feels the same way I do about him.

I remember being in high school waking up to VH1 on my tv every morning, and one day I was woken up to this beautiful voice and song. That day I became an immediate fan of this gorgeous woman, and 7 years later still am. This will remain my favorite song of hers, because it's so nostalgic. This was the beginning. I was ironically listening to this song on repeat when I was in an extremely toxic relationship. I kept holding on to that false hope that maybe it will work out,I tried so very very hard for me to ignore all the red flags and arguing. But man did it take a toll once I let go,it’s been a couple since that happened but the scars are still here. Hopefully they go away one day.
