Ronald J: Oh, I'm not sure that he's all that underrated, not among real musicians, anyway: every serious guitarist, from Jeff Beck to Prince, have all noted Harrison's sophisticated melodicism. And his bottleneck slide guitar playing, uncannily wedding Elmore James, Ravi Shankar, African-American R&B and Jazz (those chord tones and diminished scales!) with Indian Classicisms, is simply jaw-dropping in its beauty. Oh, Harrison wrote amazing, world-reorienting songs with that little band of his, what were they called, "The Beatles?" and penned not a few blockbuster hits in his Own Write. But his guitar playing remains just uncanny and sublime.

What a SHOCK to the System it was to hear this MASTERPIECE of an Album the very first time. George was always my favorite, from the beginning. The songs he sang were always the ones I loved the most... Do you want to know a secret, Shes got The Devil in her heart...I was 6 yrs old, my Mom sang it with me 😊❤ Let's not forget Billy Preston, Phil Collins, Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker, Ringo & The late Great Alan White of ..YES Thanks Harri.

Good instincts @Harri. George had this beauty ready in 1969. It could have gone on either Abbey Road or Let it Be but was rejected by John, Paul and George M. But George had the last laugh when it went on this incredible solo album instead, which went platinum many times over - with all the credit and royalties his to keep. Truly amazing song!

A really beautiful song with lyrics to ponder upon. Like "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", George notes our weakness in loving our fellow man/woman. Both of these songs always challenged me to check my selfishness and remember to live each day with compassion towards others to the best of my ability. Harri, you're the best. I enjoy watching you enjoy a song. You would exemplify what the hippie movement was at it's best.

George deserved so many writer's credits to Lennon-McCartney songs for his guitar intros, solos as well as his many lyrical contributions. This was on George's solo album which was the first post-Beatles album any of them released. He had years' worth of material because Lennon and McCartney usually limited George to one song per album. So he released this triple-LP album and blew everyone away with how much his talent had been suppressed by his being a great songwriter competing against TWO great songwriters.

@HarriBest Reactions - all the musicians/singers on this track alone are : (Wiki entry) An anthemic ballad and one of Harrison's most celebrated compositions, "Isn't It a Pity" has been described as the emotional and musical centrepiece of All Things Must Pass[1] and "a poignant reflection on The Beatles' coarse ending".[2] Co-produced by Phil Spector, the recording employs multiple keyboard players, rhythm guitarists and percussionists, as well as orchestral and choral arrangements by John Barham. The track also serves as a showcase for Harrison's slide guitar playing, a technique he introduced with All Things Must Pass. In its long fadeout, the song references the closing refrain of the Beatles' 1968 hit "Hey Jude". Other musicians on the recording include Ringo Starr, Billy Preston, Gary Wright and the band Badfinger, while the reprise version features Eric Clapton on lead guitar.

It hits differently than the original version did, and I would love to see how you feel about heading it in comparison to the original.
