Sweet Lauren, I cant tell you how much I appreciate you being so vulnerable and open in this video. 💕 I really feel like so much you talked about could be describing my own life. Im also 41 and just was prescribed adhd medication recently. It has helped some but I realized quickly that I had to cut down on the coffee once on them, due to my anxiety. It does help my focus and helps my brain not feel so jumbled up all the time. Id be interested in hearing you talk about any research youve done too. I watch all of your videos and also dont mind if theyre not edited at all and are long videos. I did read that it helps the meds work better to have protein with them, so I drink a protein shake (not sure if you have this brand there- Im in the US-but I like the Premiere Protein ones) with it in the morning instead of coffee. Ive always felt different as well, like life was just harder for me than other people and I could never understand why. I relate to you so much in so many ways, my kids are also young adults and still live with me and Ive been a single mom for most their lives and its been a struggle trying to realize I can focus on myself now instead of just always worrying about them like Ive done for over half my life lol..Im working on trying to figure out who I am as a person besides a mom, but its hard when you have kids young and kind of lose yourself along the way. Ive had lots of trying and lots of failing, relationships, different jobs, tried college a few times but never could follow through with anything for one reason or another. I try not to get too down on myself and just keep moving forward because I figure thats better than doing nothing. 🤷🏻‍♀️🙂 I tend to ramble on too so dont feel alone in that lol! I totally get the time blindness thing also, it is a really hard thing to explain to someone that doesnt experience it. But youve explained alot of things in this video better than I ever could have. Ive watched you since I believe the beginning? Probably around 2008? You were the first person I ever started watching on youtube! I didn’t have much money so Id use drugstore stuff instead of Mac, but still found doing my makeup everyday to be the one thing I did for myself that made me happy. I was so sad I wasnt able to buy your pallettes or brushes when they came out, I would have loved to buy them all, but just couldn’t afford them at the time. 😔 I cant tell you how excited I got when you started talking about possibly making some things again on your own! I will for sure be one of the first ones to purchase! Please don’t ever feel like you’ve ever let any of us down. Not just for your makeup skills but for your humanity and vulnerability. 18 months ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. The medication I have to take has given me cancer brain. It’s a real thing. Today, I couldn’t remember where I parked my car, I burned dinner because I got side tracked doing laundry, and I couldn’t find the right words to ask someone where to find something in the store. I was so embarrassed especially since the young man working there looked at me like I was insane or drunk. I am an emotional mess because I’ve never had to cope with this. It’s not the same as ADHD, but I can truly empathize with you. Please know you are not alone. Thank you for making this video. You have helped me very much. Mental and emotional health needs to be a priority for all of us but especially for us as women who take care of so many others ahead of ourselves. Love you Lauren and rooting for you always.

I am glad that you plan to make your makeup palettes again! You were the very first KZfaqr to come out with her own brand, so you took a lot of shit for it! But now it is very common! Now you can take the lessons that you learned from it! I think I remember that people didn't like the cream product next to the powder product. I think now there are so many other things we consider like products being vegan, sustainable, (good for the planet), NOT made in China, made with labor that is well-paid and not slave labor, healthy for us, useable, good quality, exciting, fun, easy to use and easy to store, as well as we like a nice package, and affordable!!!! Amazing video, Lauren! I know it’s hard (I got diagnosed with autism aged 53 and my grown up daughter moved to another country, and I’ve gone through selling parents house), but view it as a new chapter. Don’t have too many plates spinning at once, though as it can soon get overwhelming. Do one thing at a time like getting used to your job and travel, then when that feels like it’s an everyday thing that you’re used to, move on to the next thing. The ADHD is your superpower because it makes you open and relatable and that’s why you’re so loved. Good luck with everything you’ve got planned, but go at your own pace. So glad you’ve got Martin who is such a rock by your side. X

Id recommend single pans of shadow (lots of us have free style palettes) and an essential brush set with synthetic hairs. I think you can do this!

From one hyper creative ADHD person to another, it now makes sense to me that you and I are so similar. I promise you, journaling and having notifications on your phone will help you remember so much better, and leave more space in your head to learn new stuff. I think it sounds so good you’re going to learn to edit, it’s a creative process too and I know that because you’re a creative person you’re likely going to like it a lot. I got diagnosed back when I was 30, I’ve always been different. Back then I thought life was so hard but as I’ve learned all the ADHD tips and tricks I’ve found that life with ADHD is awesome!! Dear Lauren, I have been watching your makeup videos for years and always liked listening to you (love your authenticity). I never comment on videos but felt like I had to this time. When you talked about ADHD, I just started crying. I'm 35 years old and just got an official diagnosis myself. I understand you so much (even though the levels of symptoms can differ from one person to the next), from feeling out of place, abnormal and just different from others (even how the hormones make the symptoms worse) to the excitement of finally discovering the missing piece of the puzzle as you said. I'm planning on trying out medication myself (there are many different kinds and my doctor prescribed one that also helps with anxiety) as soon as I stop breastfeeding my little one. I'm so proud of you Lauren for taking that step. I've started the process myself for an ADHD/Autism diagnosis as I've felt the same hun. Looking back on my life I've always been told I had "so much potential, what happened?" I've always struggled working regular jobs, my mind is always on the go, I have sleeping issues etc etc. Only recently I've come to realise something just isn't right and seeing that so many women now are being diagnosed made my mind think, maybe that's me too. So many of us are "The Lost Girls" masking all our lives. I think covid has also had an impact too since many people lost those coping/masking mechanisms. Interesting that when you do a makeup look you are very focused. Take your time with the makeup-it’s a tough business but I think you can do it with the right support.
