im surprised by how much everyone seems to hate this stream and this game..! maybe im biased because i'm going into wildlife conservation, but this game is fascinating and soo beautiful and cool. also the "conga line" comment at 30:55 actually made my chest hurt laughing 😭great edit!

I love how Jerma is like “could you own an elephant as a pet?” and then basically describes creating an elephant conservation center- which I don’t think counts as having an elephant as a pet 😂

my friend and i were talking about how much this game is going for right now because a buddy told her it was like $300 and she had no idea. I wanted to see how crazy the prices were so i looked on ebay with her and had to scream because one of the listings was just over $1000. love video games so cool

17:49 Jerma is wrong a lot but this may be the most potentially fatally he’s been incorrect- hippos are God’s favorite animal apparently and are therefore living tanks that are hard to kill and also GREAT at killing, they’re fast as fuck and will annihilate any potential target they can get their unbelievably strong jaws around, including their own young. They can even move unbelievably fast underwater because they just sink and run beneath the water on the ground. If I fear but one creature, it is the hippopotamus.

It's from a series called Creature Comforts; they were made by Aardman Animations, the same studio that made Wallace and Gromit and Shaun the Sheep. They interviewed real people for the audio and made the animation afterwards. You should be able to find at least some of the series here on KZfaq.

interesting discussion on emulators. its something not talked about, even old school emulation is imperfect, I remember seeing familiar SNES games running on actual hardware for the first time and being struck how everything looked just a little bit better, especially on CRT but even on flatscreen

the emulator isn't imperfect, it's that the games themselves were designed with hardware limitations in mind, the game is running often better than og hardware for oldschool games.

I really don’t notice much difference at all. I think the improvements you’re getting are illusory. It feels nicer to play on the real hardware even though an emulator especially nowadays wouldn’t differ much if at all from what a game would actually play like. Unless there are technical difficulties specific to a game but they still tend to be minuscule.

I only really know what Creature Comforts is because (I think sometime last year) KZfaq just incessantly recommended the whole series to me. It's weird to see what entire series are officially uploaded onto KZfaq and which aren't. Not that weird though, just a bit.
