Adjust to infinity in Non-Ai Nikkor-S Auto 1:1.4 f=50mm. In this video I will show how it's possible to fix it if the lens can not focus out to infinity, or over infinity.
REMEMBER to set small marks, and measure the focus helicoid BEFORE you make any adjustment!

NOTE: Do NOT! use Acetone on platic part's, it will damage / melting the plastic!!!

Nice video, as usual. Thank you. I had the same problem with the same lens. The lens focused past infinity in the viewfinder, so that infinity was near the 30 ft. mark on the focus ring. Upon disassembling the lens I discovered that someone had left marks that no longer aligned and had apparently put it back together without the proper adjustment. After loosening the three screws holding the inner adjustment ring I got the marks to line up but the three screws when tightened wouldn’t hold the adjustment. After nearly an hour of trying to make it work I resorted to loosening the screws, backing the inner ring out all the way, then putting some epoxy on the threads, and aligning the marks. The next day I put the lens back together and infinity was at infinity. Love that epoxy. Will never have to adjust this again.

It looks like you have done the same thing that I did with one of my older Nikkor lenses back then, it was a very used lens but the optic elements was fine, but 3 of the screw holes was worn out. I only add a very little drop so if it was important, I could still open the lens. And I agree Epoxy is a very useful stuff :-)

Wow.... I literally rebuilt my 50 1.4 this weekend.... And had to redo it three times before I got the infinity focus right...lol. mine was the older one though...

Thank you for the videos. It would be great to get a look at the helicoids in the slightly later 50mm 1.4 lens, if you ever find a reason to. I have a 1.4 AI which took a tumble down a footpath some years ago; since then the lens has some side-to-side movement of the optical assembly which couples with the focusing action. It's entirely useable but I can't help thinking the elements must be misaligned depending on which direction the lens has been focused!

It does not sound good with your lens but good it did not break, maybe there is a loose retaining ring in the lens assembly that needed to be thigten or maybe the front ring is a bit loose. Just a few ideas. Sorry I don't have a video about the Ai Nikkor 50mm 1:1.4.
