Is it possible to obtain other technical information on adjusting the mechanics of the upright piano? THANK YOU😉😉

I once heard that a smaller let off distance makes playing pianissimo easier. Can you perhaps explain this?

It can, since the hammer is disengaging from the key when the hammer is at a closer distance to the string. But you have to be careful, because too small a distance could also cause the hammer to block against the string if the measurement were to expand or change due to humidity, etc.

Thanks for the explanation...can you please explain how wrong let off can cause bobbling (double striking).. thanks again

If the aftertouch is too shallow, when the hammer rebounds it will bounce off of the jack instead of being caught by the backcheck. That’s what causes hammer bobbling.
