The moment The Enterprise powered up and the brass from Goldsmith's Enterprise theme played as she left the hanger to save all of humanity gave me goosebumps

Months later and I still cant watch this without getting emotional. After the gut punch of watching the Borg take "our kids," the Enterprise D rises like a Phoenix to give us hope. This ship and her crew helped make me who I am today. I will forever be grateful to the showrunners for giving us this moment.

Seeing the Enterprise D be reborn just made me smile. Hearing the late Majel Barrett's voice however just made me tear up (happy/bittersweet tears). This is AWESOME!

A month later and have watched this many times. Still getting chills and tears. It's more than nostalgia, it's something that was finally well written after a long time. I also just realized that the view of the ship just before going to warp is the same as the original painting from Picard's ready room. I'm sure that was intentional.
@IMDARKFIRE00711 ай бұрын
Pay attention to the score as she comes around...it is VERY similar to the heart pounding anxiety inducing theme played as the D hangs nose to nose with the cube in Best Of Both Worlds. That too was intentional.

1:17 Love this moment with this epic version of the theme tune as the Enterprise-D stretches her legs for the first time since her fate in Generations. (Or rather her new legs as this stardrive section is a replacement for her long lost original).
@robertf34796 ай бұрын
As this stardrive section served in and survived the Dominion War, I think we could be justified in dubbing in Scotty's voice saying "Aye, and a wee bit more" as it would have received improved systems and upgrades over the course of that war making this Grand Lady more of a match for the threat.
@crex036725 күн бұрын
Just imagine if the original star drive section was rebuilt also. That would make it feel a lot better.

I loved every great moment before this, some are just Iconic and ingrained in our culture...but this I sh!t you not is the greatest moment in Star Trek history. I saw watch parties erupt in cheers like their team just won the Super Bowl. Nothing can touch this, not even Picard meeting Kirk.

People can argue all they want about this being the best scene in Trek history. One thing that cannot be argued, though is this is probably the most powerful musical score ever created for Star Trek.

A year on and this still gets me. After the first two seasons feeling like a slog to get through, this season up to this moment seemed to fly by. But from the moment those docking bay doors opened and was teased with the silhouette of one of the grandest ladies in Starfleet, it all seemed worth it. Side note, this is where it felt like Picard was Picard again. He didn't seem like same character from the previous 2 seasons or the movies. The longer he was on that bridge, the more he felt like the Captain i tuned in and saw every week. He had his family around him and his confidence returned. When he gave that "Engage!" he had that power in his voice back and didn't seem like the old broken man who had lost his faith in Starfleet. He seemed like a father that would stop at nothing to save his son. Patrick Stewart did an amazing job

The VERY first time I saw this, I had goosebumps and was bawling my eyes out. Star Trek Generations was me and my siblings childhood. To see it reborn after the events with Kirk made me so happy I had grown up on this series. Though I have to wonder, do you think the cast members knew about this or was their reaction in the shuttle, or were their reactions genuine?

@@stevegordon5689 Unfortunately not no. I gave it a good shot. I feel true Star Trek should be about moving FORWARD not backwards. This in terms human development, evolution, expansion, exploration and ultimately technology. I don't want to see what came before. I want to see what comes after. Like the moment Q introduces the crew of the Enterprise to the Borg. That is single handedly the greatest, most gripping moment in Star Trek for me. The unknown, the new threat, the relentless and seemingly emotionally devoid approach of their new enemy to pick them off a piece at a time. Just brilliance. Plus the strategic endeavours of the crew to recapture Picard. That to me is peak Trek. More please. 😊
