It's been almost two years since my father - a bigger Trekker than I ever was - passed away. Just a few months before this scene. Every time I see this clip, I tear up, not just for the emotional impact it has, but also for the thought that Dad would have absolutely LOVED this!

We just finished watch S3 and LOVED it! Great story, the gang back together, nods to the past. The STNG cast looks great, aging gracefully.

eehhh.. cool but logically speaking it was an enourmous waste.. considering the armament of Shrike it would´ve been much wiser to keep it and tow to nearest starbase for dismantling and using it´s components .. I mean, one simply doesn´t stumble upon a complement of Isolytic burst charges, plasma, photon and pulse wave torpedoes, antimatter missiles and that portal thingie.. WOWZER.. imagine how much damage aunt Kathy would do to whoever stood in her way 😁.. cuz y´know "Sometimes diplomacy requires a lil´ sabre rattling"

I can't even begin to imagine the looks on all of the actors' faces when they stepped on that recreated Enterprise-D bridge set for the first time in over 30 years. To me, season 3 of Star Trek Picard...should've been the whole damn series. Build up the Borg's subtle influence and assimilation of the younger Starfleet crew, have Picard reunite with his former crew, and combat the Borg threat using the Enterprise-D for the finale.

Yeah this shit sucks. The Breen worked because they were so mysterious. When you take that away, and give them a face, voice, and even personality because they were THAT mysterious in Ds9, you basically kill the entire point of what made these characters interesting

Interesting piece of trivia - the dedication plaque is original from TNG, it was auctioned off at some point after the series finished. The production team was able to borrow it from its current owner and for the time when there was no filming it was kept in a safe to prevent anyone from stealing it :)

What i actually appreciate is the logic of the donor ship (Syracuse) is that if it was decommissioned in a functional state, all the primary systems (warp, torpedo launchers, shield generators) are in the donor ship, and the fact the actual “enterprise” part is a beaten up semi restored museum piece isn’t as silly to take underway again. Also if the syracuse was surplus galaxy keel built for the dominion war it would have had a lot of extra teeth installed compared to the original D. My headcanon was the donor galaxy got it’s saucer heavily damaged in the war and was held in a depot for repairs, and eventually was stricken from the registry after made surplus, and that’s when Geordi had it pulled aside for this project. Don’t forget the saucer’s primary functions was habitation and core computer. Things that Geordi could slowly bring back online over 20 years of tinkering.

Am I the only one that realized they BSG'd this baby? An analog ship not connected to the rest of the fleet going up against a hive-minded enemy? Come on people... it's just beautiful that both ships (Galactica and Enterprise), were both old and considered past their prime, but resilient, loved by their crew and ultimately badass! Not to mention, they brought their people home!
