Awesome! Really good video. The F-18 is definitely on my short list to buy! I run a 6000mah in my 90mm F-22 and get similar results with the stock power system. I see a lot of guys spending a fortune "upgrading" parts to be "more efficient" and getting the same flight times I'm getting on the stock system by just managing my throttle. I agree with what Patrick said about being too fast for maneuvers if you just yank and bank on full throttle the whole time. Gotta manage that power (and energy - that's what aerobatic flying is all about) to make the most out of your battery capacity and also to make your flights look good. I see a lot of neck-breaking maneuvers with these RC planes. Lol. I like nice, smooth, scale-like maneuvers and good throttle management, which, again, contributes to comfortably long flights and really good looking flights. Sorry for the rambling. LOL. Great video guys :)

I am in the process of converting all of my electrics including Giant Scale to using flight pack telemetry. Every minute my transmitter (NX10) tells me the flight pack voltage. When it gets down to 44 Volts, (12s1P) it's time to land. Taxiing back it will always be a little higher but that is ok. It is piece of mind and no more timers.

That flying site is very similar to mine, many obstacles to avoid and limited flight envelope on the outer edges. Definitely a good jet to keep in close and tight!

It's definitely a challenge. But makes flying at Joe Nall and other places so much easier!

Forget about timers if your radio has telemetry. Set a alarm on your transmitter to beep when your onboard battery reaches 3.85 volts per cell. It couldn't be any easier and no more guess work. Simple Simple Simple!!!!!!

Love the videos but i dont understand why you would only fly the batteries to the storage charge. Thats the safe storage level not the usable level. As long as you dont go under 3vlt per cell you won't hurt the battery so flying them down to 3.5 or even 3.4 under load is fine. Then return them to "storage" charge. I haven't had any problems with my batteries and some of them are several years old.

We fly it down for ease of use. When I’m finished flying I don’t have to mess with storage charging when I get home. I only lose 30-40 seconds of flight and give myself a buffer if I have to go around on landing. What you do is perfectly fine also.

I am also interested in using this battery for my AL-37 as some of your testing was done with the 6s 6000 and it was mentioned that perhaps up to 10 min flight times could be had with judicious throttle usage. That's what I want for sure. Now how about a 7000 mah to match Spektrum?

I have two of the 6000s cells are not discharging equally but they charged up fine on the 1600 mm cosair 8 minute flights came down at 40 percent so 14 minutes mixed throttle slow fly is possible I wish the C rate was higher edfs are pack killers

Wonder if any of these have been built with Inav with Crossfire for FPV. Maybe somewhere like Dubai.

James and Patrick. I have the RX600SP in my F-18 just forward of the blue box. To get the 6S- 6000 to balance I have to remove the RX600 and move it some place else. Where did you mount yours or did you even have the RX600 on this plane? I haven't maidened as of this time.
