Great video? How are you supposed to see what’s going on when he’s got the camera in another room and you’re not close enough to see which lights are blinking or on or off what a waste of time👎🏼

Great video, had difficulty with my unit not completing a fill and would then drain without ever washing. Found in the service manual in a little area in troubleshooting. Almost completely overlooked and IMO should be everyone first check- the units have a timout and drain of 6 minutes to fill. If your feed isnt open all the way or like in my case a clog on filter screen to machine supply. I m on a well with hard water. So i shut off my water. Unhooked water hoses from machine and pryed out the filter screens/cleaned and replaced. That allowed full flow of water in under 6 minutes which allowed machine to go to wash. Easiest no cost fix! Should be go to before buying parts and is hidden away in service book.

First, Thank You! for this and all your other videos. I just wanted to add that I located my Service Technician's manual in a plastic pouch glued to the front of the washer where the bleach dispenser cup is located. I found it easiest to get to the manual by removing the dispenser cup by pushing the plastic clip in from the basket side. I now know that I am throwing a consistent F7E1 - basket speed sensor error. I trust manual will help with the next steps.

I found that the service manual is included in the washer casing. When in front of the unit, open lid, look into tub (back at yourself) and in the now upper right corner is the service booklet in a plastic bag stuck to the front of the inside of unit. It goes through all of the codes and steps to test the unit. I just used the video and the booklet to find out that my washer had a stocking stuck in the impeller. Pulled it out and off we go. Thanks for sharing. When I need parts I will consider, unless it is an emergency and can't wait for shipment.

Yes Matt, you helped me save money. I literally took my laptop to my washer and followed the steps to get into diagnostic mode. I then was able to differentiate if the reason the unit was not emptying was some sort of mechanical RPM motor/actuator issue, or stupid blockage. After getting it to up to speed in diagnostic, I realized that the issue must be blockage. Opened back, took off tobe from impeller and voila, wife's pantyhose stuck in there. Put is all back together and wife says it is emptying faster now than before, so I wonder just how long that thing was in there. Thanks for the help.

You're a wizard, you are! Here is what I did: 1) Diagnostic (LRRRLR)...Got 12345 glowing lights 2) RRRR...got 3 (rinse) glowing 3) Pressed start...54321, 54321, 54321 ("reverse KITT" pulsing light pattern) 4) Less than 20 seconds later...123456 all solid color (all green + red lid lock) 5) Press & hold start...lid lock blinked for 10 seconds then CLICK, unlocked. 6) I then started the machine on delicate cycle. I have to say, the noises the machine makes and the struggle sounds, pauses etc are very disconcerting. I honestly would not buy one had I not needed this to replace "Kelvinator" and found this on CL. The code trick seemed to get it out of TANTRUM mode...THANKS

If you have an engine code on your car...Autozone will evaluate it for you. If you live in Cali (AZ is not allowed to do that code eval) you have to take it to a garage and pay money to have the code read. At that point, yo're better off either buying your own code reader (and listing yourself on CL for $15 reads) or Taking your car for a "used car pre-purchase vehicle inspection" - which is about the same money except the PPI will get you a ~health physical~ on your vehicle in addition to the code reading (code reading is part of any reputable PPI)

I was told that this washer had no computer panel. I have had high brow GE front loader and a Maytag Centennial and each were fired from a electrical surge within 3 years each ! I bought this because it was $100 less than a Hot Point that had no PC board and glad to know it is American made. So am I stuck with a computer board or is it Electro/Mechanical which is easier to fix ? It took 3 weeks to fix my Maytag as they had to order 3 boards. Each time ordering and waiting. I just want a basic machine to clean. I read a review it uses MUCH water and then I have read it does not use enough. Is this worth the $400 with a 4 year warranty ?

@@EveHallows no it was nothing but trouble. So we scrapped it and I found a local used appliance store and bought an older Amana direct drive that has no mother board. Rugged and reliable and no stupid error codes. The machine in this video was a constant problem. And when I took it apart, I found the repair manual hidden in a pouch taped inside the shell. They hide it so you have to call a repairman- person or whatever. Very clever. Stick with the old school machines. It's working for us

Help: I have an Admiral ATW4675YQ0 with exactly the same problem. Fills, washes and rinses OK. Red lid light begins to flash although door stays locked. Dorr switch checks OK for continuity. Also jumpered it to be sure.Tries to spin but cuts out. Spin cycle gets shorter and shorter. Clothes always wet. Changed the control board and cycle timer; didn't work. Where do I order the sensor shown in the video and how do I change it? Under the main motor is what looks like a 3 rpm timer motor. Does that control spin cycle?

My situation is that the washer stops at the end of the wash cycle, and will not enter the next cycle. My first code, numbering the lights from 1 to 6, is 1-2, alternating with 5. Advancing the control knob one position, I got 1-3-4-5 alternating with 3-4. My tub spins freely. Also, do you recommend opening the machine from the back? Did you go in through the bottom here because of space restrictions? Also, can I assume that my machine was calibrated at the factory, or is this something that I ought to do myself? Thanks.--Tom

I bought a new Whirlpool a few years ago, and it took 3 hours going through it's cycles for the first year and by the second year it was stuck on spin and never spinning. They would have done a house call for some outrageous amount. Old washing machines never had these sensors and were 10 times better. They are designed to break down and the sensors are not a requirement to having a washing machine breakdown. I struggle with mine sending it through all the cycles for days at a time until one time it finally goes through after 6 tries, and I wonder why all my shirts have holes in them, but the old veteran on a fixed income cant to have it fixed, but why fix something that was shit to begin with.

Well I did this reset test, and for some reason it took the second time and went through the cycles so thank you, but in all honesty these sensors are ridiculous and make newer machines far worse than the older ones. LRLRR-RRLR, really just to fix a problem that it should have never had to begin with. I bought a display model because it was all I could afford and nothing but problems I wouldn't wish on any one.

I have a Whirlpool Top load agitator type washing machine model WTW4800XQ4. I bought it about a year ago. Ever since i have it, i get white detergent stains which are so noticable on dark color clothes that i cant even wear them!!! I tried changing the brand of detergent, I tried using less detergent, Does help. So i decided to run the washer and stay to watch it run. I noticed that the wash cycle is fine and it drains and spins out, then to the rinse cycle , the drum fills with water and IMMEDIATELY drains. No agitation is heard and no spin out, Then in spin cycle water fills again and drains and then spins out, and done During the rinse and spin cycle when water is in the drum ,there is no movement, the pump just turns on and drains!!!! I had an old maytag for 20 years and never had a days trouble with it , What is wrong with the washer ? Thank you

***** Yes in fact the drain hose has an extension on it in order to reach the existing plumbing. Its about 2 feet above the top of the washer. I found a PDF file of a tech sheet for the whirlpool washers this is the link www.pwslaundry.com/files/docs/maytag-whirlpool/Tech-Sheet-W10280489-Rev-D.pdf Do you think running a diagnostic is going to tell me anything? I hope i described the problem properly, the water fills and drains right away in rinse mode. no movement of the drum or agitator to remove detergent from the clothes. Will be glad to subscribe to your YT page. Thank You again.

My washer is just over a year old and I am looking to trade it for a used washer that doesn't have a faulty pc board that has only completely washed maybe 12 small loads. I'm sick, so I bought this because I don't have the energy to go out to do laundry It destroyed the last load of laundry. Didn't actually wash but just a small amount of hot water was dispensed when I had it set on cold. I didn't know so when I went to take the half wet laundry to the laundromat, everything had purple stains so bad, I had to throw allot of my clothes out. Never buy anything made by this company again.

I mean let's look at this from a numbers game this washer machine I think I paid $299 for it so let's just say $350 how much does it cost to get a guy to go to your house I mean the flat rate 100 200 and then that's before Diagnostic and repairs or maybe diagnostic is included in that fee for him to show up but after that they're still parts and labor and I mean again realistically I paid $300 for this and this is why everything is disposable. Also here though did you notice how after all the Diagnostics the computer said the machine was running perfectly and there was no error code and the initial error code could have been caused by stuck underwear and a stuck sock but again it's so expensive to have a repairman out that repairman doesn't want to go to the customer and say hey it just cost you x amount of money $150 or $200 and your machine runs perfect so what do they do they replace the part that they even admit is probably still good but they have to do it to give them a reason to be there and make the customer feel happy I mean it's just a slippery slope and I get it but man oh man makes everything disposable
