This is the second video of Adobe Animate Basics - a series of short tutorials for beginner animators who want to start animating in Adobe Animate. This video covers the Timeline, layers, frames, keyframes, and Onion Skinning. We also animate a simple blinking... rabbit? Cat?
My microphone stopped recording for a little while towards the end, but fortunately I still had audio from the screen recording. Sorry for the short dip in audio quality!

I've been animating traditionally for the last year since the start because I've found digitally animating intimidating. how do I insert a frame between two existing keyframes ? I tried using the short cut keys but it won't work. The workaround I found: is to first extend the frame with F5 then with F6 create a keyframe, then erase the existing drawing and draw new one. There's gotta be a quicker way. Why couldn't F6 or F7 work to create new keyframe between two existing keyframes ?

can someone tell me why the shortcuts are both: selecting the tool AND opening the tab with the same letter? for example if I press H it will both select the Hand tool AND display the Help tab. this is driving me crazy, the same for E (eraser tool AND opening the Edit tab) additionally it is always making that window sound when you cant do an action every single time I change between tools using shortcuts.

Wondering how you animate on animate cc a walk cycle across the screen without the app freaking out? I am almost across the center of the screen and then feet and part start missing and if I try to continue it crashes.

I still can't seem to wrap my head around onion skinning. Right now I'm using sonic sprites (big shocker) and I'm lining them all up and going through the steps to animate I can successfully get an animation going, but with a bunch of the unused sprites that I cut following behind. Does anyone have any insight on this at all?
