Honestly, if I were in Laura's position, I'd prefer to have adopted parents who treated me with nothing but unconditional love and support nearly my entire life rather than actual parents who'd treat me like dirt any day.

Idea for story about adopting sibling and family: The story focuses on a family who are not wealthy, but they are well off. The couple has three children, a boy and a girl born of blood, and an adopted girl. While she forms a strong bond with her new brother, her sister refuses to accept her as family because she is adopted. Her brother defends their adopted sibling, saying that she is family no matter what, as do her parents. Yet the girl continues to torment, mock, and mistreat her adopted sister, claiming that her own mother didn't even want her. Years later, their mother dies of an illness and leaves instructions in her will for her husband to control the money her children are to inherit, being handed out once they come of age, including the adopted girl, much to the anger of her sister. Years later, the three siblings have followed their own path in life. The son has become a teacher. The sister has become a famous model. And their adopted sibling has become a health care home aide nurse. The brother has gotten married and is expected his third child while his sister is engaged to the son of one of the wealthiest men in the city. However, she makes it clear to her adoptive sibling that she is not invited because it is for family only. Over the years, she has become spoiled, arrogant, haughty, and desires to live a life of luxury and wealth. The adopted sister is involved in a relationship with a janitor, something that her sister mocks her over seeing as how she is a stain on their family. Meanwhile, their father's health has begun to suffer and as part of her job, his adopted daughter takes care of him. After a disastrous family dinner where his children, grandchildren, and his children's partners are involved in another arguement over the adopted girl's status in their family, the stress causes him to suffer a heart attack. He is rushed to the hospital and his daughter blames her adopted sister for what happened, something that her brother and fiance disagree with. Disgusted by his fiancee's attitude, her treatment of her family, and the fact that he now believes that she is only with him for his money, he breaks off the engagement and ends their relationship. She angrily blames her 'sister' for ruining her life, but her brother and sister call her out on her selfishness. The adopted sister takes care of her father at the hospital while he is also visited by his son and his family. They even give him a teddy bear with a Nam-Cam in it. His daughter hardly comes to visit, except to ask him for money. His son becomes power of attorney over his finances since he is in no condition to take care of it himself, forcing her to go to her brother for money but he refuses. One day, close to the end of her shift, when she is bringing her father his supper, she comes across her sister angrily telling their father to hurry up and die so she can get her inheritance. She confronts her sister and calls her out on her attitude towards their father, but her sister angrily says that it is none of her business. She retorts that it is her business because he is still her father and that he and his wife took her in from the orphanage. It is revealed that her own mother had died of an illness when she was young and her own father wanted nothing to do with her, abandoning his lover when she got pregnant. She may not be family biologically, but she is still family whether her sister likes it or not, saying that family is about love and not blood. She also tells her to show some respect for her father because of his failing health, but her sister heartlessly says she doesn't care if he dies. The head doctor, having heard everything, sides with her adopted sister and bans her from visiting. After her sister leaves, the woman comforts her father as she gives him his meal. Her father says that he recently made changes to his will, but she doesn't want to hear about it. She leaves the hospital after work. The next morning, she recieves a call from the hospital saying her father has died in his sleep. She is given two weeks off work to cope with her grief. Her brother and his family as well as her boyfriend share their grief while their sister doesn't have a care in the world, not even showing up to the funeral. At the reading of the will, she expresses outrage that her adopted sister has shown up for the will. According to the will, portions of their father's assets and finances will be divided between his adopted daughter, his son, and his family. The will also has a message for the biological daughter from their father who expresses disappointment in her about how she has refused to accept her sister as family, and that her adopted sister has been more of a daughter to him and his wife than she ever was. Therefore, her portion will be given to charity. The woman is outraged and blames her 'sister' for what happened, claiming that she will not get away with it, even going so far as to claim she had something to do with their father's death. This is last straw for her brother and her tells her to leave, denouncing her as his sister, claiming that their adopted sibling is even more of a sister to him than she ever was. Before leaving, she angrily says she will hire a lawyer to challenge her father's will and claim what is rightfully hers. On the day she is scheduled to return to work, she is visited by the police who tell her she is under arrest for the murder of her adopted father. Her sister is with them, claiming that she saw her do it herself. The woman is shocked, saying that her sister was banned from the hospital and there was no way she could have seen anything and that she is lying. While she is in custody, her sister taunts her, saying that she is where she belongs. The brother tells the police how upset his adopted sister was about their father's death and she reveals that her sister had an indifferent attitude to their father's health and death. The police question the staff at the hospital where they find some credibility to her story. Even her boyfriend tells the police how devastated she was after her father's death. Then she and her brother remember the teddy bear containing the Nam-Cam. The police find it and play the footage where they see her sister demanding her father hurry up and die so she can get her inheritance, the arguement between the sisters, and her telling her father she isn't interested in his will. The siblings and the police are then horrified to watch footage of their sister sneaking into the room after their father has fallen asleep and unplugging the life support machine, plugging it back in after he is dead. The police track her down and arrest her for murder and lying to the police. She furiously berates her brother for betraying their family but together with his adopted sister, he tells her off, saying she is the one who betrayed their family. The story makes the headlines on the front page, destroying her career and her reputation. In court, the woman spitefully continues to blame her 'sister' for their father's death, claiming she was the mastermind, but the courts have enough evidence to prove that she is lying and that her sister had nothing to do with it. She is sentenced to life in prison, but before she is taken out of court, she spitefully spits at her 'sister' blaming her for ruining their family. Afterwards, a man approaches her, saying that she is her sister's lawyer. After he told her that there was no way they could challenge her father's will and win, she decided to blame her sister for their father's death. She decided that if she wasn't getting anything, then it was only fair that her 'sister' should be left with nothing. In the aftermath of justice being delivered, the siblings are out for an evening meal at a fancy restaurant where her boyfriend proposes to her and she accepts.

To put it bluntly, Eric was docile enough not to be given away for adoption like Laura was but he also was a dog 🐶 for his parents to manipulate and mold him into doing whatever they wanted him to do as well as being their maid and butler. Laura although she was discarded by her parents took no crap from her real parents and I’m proud of her for that

Yes I knew fictional characters that was adopted. I remembered watching a old 90s TNBC show called One World bout the Blake Family that live in Miami FL The kids was different races adopted from foster care except Sue who was Chinise adopted as a Baby. Ben Jane & The Blake parents Was white. The other kids was Different races. I remember as a 90s kid reading bout the Baby Sitters Club I call it mostly the BSC. Kristy had 4 brothers 3 her brothers Andrew who was 4 her stepbrother & Karen who was 7 her stepsister. Her mom Elizabeth & Stepdad Watson adopted her baby sister Emily Michelle from a country called Vietnam she was 2. Time 7:55PM Fri 3/1/24

The end of this was not it sucked, it was wrong and boring that it finishes to quite and it should been with the other family that gets angry with their son, for going with the sister and the other family and then the rich family losses their money and the poor family become rich, the end!
