I use a Ranger with a Diverite SS plate and STA, great combo indeed !!!.

I was looking at the Apeks WTX harness, which was the model before the Exotec.

I have had a ranger for 10 years. Zero issues. I dive big steel tanks, deep and dark water. Alot of redundant equipment we carry. Never had the air bladder issues with the U shaped design. The 2 bands are a must. 1 band bcd are about cost reduction not good diving.

Zeagle weight system is a PITA. If you're an instructor and have to often give weights to your students, you'll end up using a weight belt with the Zeagle :( And if you have to hand your weight pockets to someone on the boat, you'll probably lose them.

Thanks for the overview. Zeagle ripcord release design seems unnecessarily finicky to re-arm, even if it works fine. Exotec also has some features that are a little overkill for a rec bcd. Both look very well made either way.

I own the Exotec and live in the Caribbean. This bc is ridiculous for warm water diving. I’ve had to many issues with it (trapped air in the donut) and I’m selling it after 14 dives. FYI- there’s not one KZfaq reviewer that is aware of the Exotec SHOULDER TRIM POCKETS. They’re hidden and you have to hunt and dig to find them…a pain in the ass to load and remove your soft-weights…

Does the Ranger come with crotch Strap? If not, can one add a crotch strap to it easily?

Please dont start posting scuba focused content, not what im (anf. Im guessing many others) are subscribed for. If you are going to start filling my sub box with this I will be unsubscribing, a second channel would be much more suitable.

Dual tank bands, specifically the lower one make it really hard to fit it and a tank down into the holders on almost every single dive boat. Infuriating.
