"Watch how wide the legs of Broner get," Teddy notes here. It's still a deep, fundamental flaw of AB.

@The Kid You actually have less power with that stance. You only have more power in you´re jab and also you can´t move laterally well, with that stance.
@walter1893
@walter1893 4 жыл бұрын
@The Kid No it doesn´t. If someone would push you from the side you would fall or go off balance with that stance. Same goes for a big left hook, its common sense. Also you can´t twist you´re body and legs into you´re punch if you stand like that. You´re back leg is so far away and you´re sideways against you´re opponent so you don´t have much leverage on you´re left hook. Its good for moving forward and backwards quickly and you have more power on you´re jab. But its not good for sitting down on you´re punches and lateral movement. I know from experience and also its common sense. Heres a example of perfect stance. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ipann5Wkv7a-Yps.html

@The Kid Thats a flaw and not a good stance buddy. Any great trainer like steward, futch, arcel would have told you the same. Theres nothing you can do in this stance that you can´t do in a proper stance. But in a proper stance you can move laterally also and be in balance and be able to punch at the same time. Wilder had that stance and he was constantly of balance and he has to jump forward to get power in that right hand. We also saw that in the broner vs maidana fight. I also think teddy atlas who pointed it out knows also little more than you. This is boxing 101.

You do realise most of the time when moving up in weight you either loose speed or power or maybe both. Also its his first time at welterweight and he picked a guy thats never been KO'ed and is stylistically a bad match for Broner. Time will tell if Broner has his power cuz his speed is there.

Thing is people overlook that broner was 19 in his 8th fight. I can see Reese watched this footage and try to mimic quintero and forgot this was years ago great fighters grow from performances like this. Since 2002 Mayweather fought so many guys that tried the Castillo strategy and either got stopped or embarrassed for 12 rounds. They forgot that was 11 years ago.

listen bro, I dont care if Broner was in his prime back then or whether he is now in his prime or not yet. Fact is he lost that fight against Quintero WITHOUT A DOUBT. And I scored the Ponce de Leon for Ponce by 1 point also. so basically the fact is that Broner isnt undefeated. he is a hype job
@zebbedi
@zebbedi 11 жыл бұрын
I think the problem is that some fans don't know how judges score fights or how to score them themselves. Broner won this fight on my scoring and he also won the De Leon fight. I think the 'robberies' have more to do with the jealousy of the person saying it than anything else.

I scored the exact same thing with maybe round 7. Either way Broner clearly lost this fight. There is a blue print to beat Broner. If you have a solid chin, a good jab and right hand you can beat him. You have to get Broner to turn to protect from your left hook and than WAM crack him with a right overhand hook. At 135 & 140 he is going to have serious problems. They better keep cherry picking opponents for him.

I thought the Ponce De Leon fight was a draw but it could have gone either way (Broner being the american fighter, gets away with the decision of course). I know this is an old fight, and Broner has improved but the flaws he shows in this fight are still there. This guy made him look like mitt work. The key to beating broner is to circle around him and only come inside to throw combinations, afterso, step immediately out. Never stay inside with Broner, as that's what he wants you to do.

You're only mentioning those rounds. I thought this fight was a draw, but it could of gone to Quintero. The problem is that most of his punches weren't landing, and they were not very hard punches. Broner landed some of the more accurate, harder punches. So I see why Broner won this fight.

Donaire is too small for Broner. Donaire fights at 122, recently he was even lower at 118. Broner would beat him. Also I like Gamboa as much as the next guy but his punches are more wide and he has defensive flaws. Broner would take advantage of that. Plus Gamboa has only fought a couple times above featherweight (126). Broner clearly outgrew 130 and after two fights at lightweight (135) hes moving up two divisions to welterweight (147). IMO too big and too skilled for Gamboa.

Fernando Quintero would get destroyed now. I scored the fight 77-75 Quintero. Or 5 rounds to 3. I have Broner winning rounds 1, 7, and 8. Round 4 was close but Quintero had the effective aggression and ring generalship which also helped carry him rounds 2 thru 6 IMO. I wouldnt call it a robbery, I guess, but a Quintero win or a draw is a more realistic scorecard IMO then Broner winning.

I had it 4 rounds to 4, and i think teddy scored it the same. The thing about this fight it resembled an amateur boxing where they were both throwing a lot of ineffective punches! I believe Quintero had a better work rate but threw a lot of punches that didn't really hurt Broner. And although Broner threw alot of ineffective punches as well i feel he threw a LITTLE more effective punches. If you look at the replay there were times where Quintero was stunned. But i dont think he was hurt.
