my mom owns Baby Locks and apparently they're the best you can buy, but hers always broke the needle, the needle fell out, etc. So watching your videos, I decided on buying the Brother SE600 (mom said that Brother is the cheaper Baby Lock?) and I'm paranoid to embroider with it because of the issues with the Baby Lock machines lol. I was sewing a little bit with it which of course works just fine. I've also been looking into Masterworks 3 but holy crap is that an expensive program!

The brothers machines are really economical when getting started. I have never used baby locks so I don’t have an opinion. Having my machine for over a year and a half now i have only broken 2 needles. Both broke when I was a beginner and I was trying to do things that the machine wasn’t made to do. A needle break is probably inevitable as they get old but the se600 is a solid machine and will last from my experience. You can’t go wrong.

I'm looking into getting this to replace my older sewing machine that finally kicked the bucket. I do a lot of plushie work as well as general sewing and having something that can do embroidering would def help with the whole plushie works, for doing eyes and what not. My only issue is I cant find much information on the software to make your own patterns outside people in the amizon reviews saying its like $1k+ or whatnot? Or that you can only buy patterns from the website? I seen some videos on PE-Design 10 but its been discontinued and I haven't found any sort of info on what is used now. This so far is the only machine in my budget that also does embroidering but if what's needed to make my own patterns for my plushies (so I can stop using plastic eyes) is going to be a pain. I may have to go for something else, or a basic sewing machine. So any info on this? What is needed?

Do you have any videos for using repositional hoops for the SE600. This machine is limited to 4x4 and if you want to do a 5x7 youll need software to edit your design, right?

Investing $1000 dollars in something that will make you money is not expensive. A lot of people don’t talk about the software because there are a lot of different softwares and all the good ones cost. Nothing good is inexpensive. If you look at it from a business perspective it’s not really expensive. You have to invest in what you do unless it’s just a hobby and your just playing around. If that’s the case it’s not worth it. All the softwares are somewhat complicated to use. There is a large learning curve and the skill is worth paying for to be taught if your not willing to teach yourself.

As long as the design is under 4" in height and 4" in width you should be fine.

So I’m new to embroidering and have broken 3 needles and it keeps nesting on the bottom. I’ve messed with the tension and have used different colors bobbin and top tread so I can see what It’s doing but once I put in the design I need it starts to nest and then my needle breaks. Is it the design? How do I fix my issue? (Using Se600)

Jennifer Barrios 1. You might not have the embroidery foot in. Do you have the sewing foot on or the embroidery foot (hoop looking thing)? 2. Do you have the embroidery base on that turns your machine from sewing time embroidering? 3. If you have on the right foot and right bad that transforms your machine the needle shouldn’t brake. The nesting is most likely caused because you don’t have your marching threaded correctly. I have a video on that.

Okay I’ll try that video, I thought maybe it was tension issue. But I have the embroidery base part on and the embroidery foot on. I threaded it like I do for regular sewing. I’ll check out the other video and see if maybe it’s that.

Jennifer Barrios it is the tension. It’s the tension wheels on the inside of the machine. You don’t have to adjust the tension manually. You have to thread the machine right. Release the tension on the wheels by raising up the lever. Thread it then put the lever down (which puts the tension back on) use the thing on the side to put the thread in the needle then out the lever back up and prepare to embroider. The lever applies and takes off tension on the wheels inside the machine thread it while the tension is on and get bird nesting.

That can only be done in the embroidery software. All the elements in the image would have to be adjusted.

That happens to me sometimes. It could possibly be that as the thread is passing through it is creating small knots and when that not goes to pass threw the hole of the needle it creates tension and breaks the thread or sometime the needle. could also be that the thread is to light and thin. few different possibilities for this issue.

You need embroidery software to create .pes files brother Pe Design 10 or embrilliance or hatch are a few programs.

I believe the usb has to be 16gb or less. I’ve used others but do. It take my word for it. Look at what the manufacturer suggests to be certain.

Bro we gotta communicate a little bit better. You purchased your embroidery file from where? What is the file format? If its not a .pes it will not open on your brothers embroidery machine.

In my opinion the black lettering does not look great. It is not something I would want to sell. But that is not on you, it's the limitations of the machine.
