@@nenam3057 because not all my teeth had grown in yet and my mouth was too small to fit all of them, but granted I had to get them put on and taken off 3 separate times. The first two times I knew I needed them, but this third and final round was my decision, but they encouraged that I got them one final time. In March it’ll be 2 years with this third round and I’m so ready to get them off lol 😂

I got braces when I was 27. Best thing i've ever done. I smiled a lot with braces since I hated my teeth so much before. If you are thinking about getting braces as an adult, do it!

No, they only got them on the top and there was no pressure really so it’s not sore. Plus when you add in like rubber bands or expander it makes it way worse

A lot of people get braces after 40, some because of bite or other tooth health issues. I have them for the second time at 45 because they move, not a big deal. My boss have them in his late 50's because of his bite the dr told him in a couple of years he wouldn't be able to chew properly.

My daughter had one for like 6 weeks. She was the one that reminded me to turn it every other day. She said it wasn’t too bad and she generally doesn’t handle pain well. 🤷🏽♀️

I got braces when I was 21 and got them removed now when I'm 23. I had never in 23 years smiled or laughed with my mouth open or I always covered my mouth. But now, I literally show off my teeth and see my teeth twice or thrice a day. People thinking to get it, just do it. It'll totally change your life.

When I had braces I only followed the no biting into apples rule. I ate everything else that you weren’t supposed to. But I wore my bands and stuff like that how I was supposed to. I just ate all the chewy sticky foods😂

When it says 'brush at 45° angle' It means that the brush is parallel to the lip and angled 45° upwards towards your gum- if anyone is confused

I have braces currently, and I was taught to brush upwards (like halfway on the bracket and halfway on the tooth) and then the same thing, only on the top of the brackets

basically your brush is straight (since parallel are two lines that dont meet, so the brush is below the lip) and then put it to 45 degrees up near your gum and then brush!

Braces Horror Story: When I was getting my first set of bottom brackets ( 4th year of having tops ), they assigned a trainee to do my brackets. I was fine with it because everyone needs a starting pint and I trusted the doctor to stop her if she was doing something wrong. Well...😔😔😔. The experience was horrible. She got glue all over the inside of my mouth, burnt my gums with the light that you dry the glue with, and the GLUE MY CHEEK TO MY BRACKETS!!! And then she RIPPED my cheek off the brackets and had to get the skin off that was still hanging on. ( The doctor had a problem at another office and had to leave and left a nurse in charge). I don’t know what happened to her because I didn’t complain because I didn’t want to get her in trouble. I think she got fired tho because I never saw her there again. I still go to that office 2 years later

Same. Everyone was excited for me. My teeth were horrible 😩 and freaking Invisalign is double the cost of traditiona braces; insurance does not pay any braces for adults. So metal mouth all the way for me!! 😂😂

I got bottom and top the same day. I have braces currently and this is my second time having them. And I pretty much had braces for my school pictures for like 3 grades and then didn’t for like 2 grades and got them again. Not fun lol.

I actually eat the food that I'm not allowed to eat... I mean my orthodontist told me not to eat anything hard like popcorn or chips or sticky like gummy and gum or even sugary like chocolate or anything with sugar in it 😂😂 and I was like TF? So basically I eat them and I don't think that she notices, maybe cause I brush my teath for a LONG time before we visit her 😂😂😂 And like nothing happens... 😂😂😂 edit : OMG!!! I’m 25 and getting my metal braces in a month! I’m so excited because I’ve always wanted them and think braces look so cute. If you’re an adult and want braces go for it. It’s really not a big deal and you’ll look great! 💁🏾♀️

@@emily-xf7fo yeah I used to have them, they hurt for a couple days every time you get them tightened and it’s fine....they make your lips pop out a little and at first I remember thinking it felt like there was a twig between my teeth and lips

Lol they only hurt for the first two or three days, and then it stops. You’ll most likely even forget about them a week or two in. Won’t even feel them anymore lol. Never understood why people always complain about them so much?? Only pain is when they’re tightened, which is every 3-5 months on average.

I had braces from almost 3yrs and also went through the expander on the roof of my mouth which i use to shoot left over food from lol. The pain of having braces was worth it.
