Seems you are learning about the pillars in the global age! You had an Experience but that alone isnt enough, Since that is how blind faith or religious Dogma often rises. So you began the search for Knowledge, to help you verbalize it better, but that too isnt enough as you felt being almost led "astray" So you began practicing Raja Yoga to regain that knowledge you once experienced through meditation that which you already know is real (Brahman) From your own individual experiences. Maybe you feel self actualise, maybe you don't. But not only a primary practice can we get there, we often need a secondary, tertiary, quaternary, quinary, senary, septenary, octonary, nonary, and denary. (wtf do you mean?) I mean one path alone, such as just meditation (raja yoga) isnt enough. but if you choose 10 paths, you might just burst into flames. just as the rice/fire/water metataphore, The only way is through is practice of many paths, even if you feel they might lead you astray, that too is your path. maybe Bhaki yoga, or Karma yoga, maybe Yoqi, or Qigong yoga, Kundalini yoga or whatever path is most suitable for you, maybe all of them! i donno! Only when you master your yoga practice can you bring your Experience into the world so that others might experience it as well. Its like trying to prove that which cannot be proven, as we all have experiences we know are real, but we cannot prove it to others who haven't experience it also. In the end its just a story until you gain the power of manifestation. Christianity has influenced me A LOT, and they will often describe this "experience" as:: "your personal experience with God, its personal, between you and him alone" but i Find this undermines an individuals personal power. Something people are searching far and wide for, in the global age, when one finds it, they can call themselves a "yogi" or a "swami" or whatever they manifest in the world to be.
