Level 45, stage 26 right now. What works for me: 1) Fuel Bomb with high Burning damage 2) Join others Global Rescue from chat, doesn't require tickets that way 3) Reroll my gear for physical(gun + aerial bomb) and Fire damage (Fuel bomb)

This is my general setup, and it seems to be serving me well. Gems: Definitely use the fort health and damage reduction he talks about. Normally I abandon defense in games, but the damage reduction is too important to pass on. Next, I use the gems that nullify the damage from the first x hits (multiples _do_ stack) and also deal counterattack damage. Then I add gems that heals the fort for x% health for every fort upgrade you have whenever you select a new skill. To finish my defense, I have a gem that heals the fort for 3 health each time a zombie dies, and I love it so much. I'm considering removing the other healing now that I have it, but I don't think it'll be to my benefit yet. I use as many of these as I can. When it comes to damage reduction, it's a must have, even if I have to have a gray gem in a piece of gear to do it. I currently have a lot of the counterattack damage gems too, but only because of the other gems that heal me based on how many fort upgrades I have. If I can afford to remove that healing now that I got that heal on kill gem, I can remove the counterattack damage as well and free up a lot of space for offense. Speaking of which... Offensively, I have a +1 Penetration and a +1 Volley I'm putting at the top of the list. Then I want as much cooldown reduction as possible first, then plain attack, then usually gun damage, then physical damage. I think I do have an elemental damage (probably fire) in there somewhere too. Keep in mind I don't have all of this stuff in every piece of gear, it's just how I prioritize the slots I have left after my defensive gems. For normal stages, my go to build has been: Thermo Bomb (to unlock exploding bullets,) Fuel Bomb (close range attack,) Drone (long range attack,) and Guided Laser (for elites and bosses.) The build is gun centric, and can struggle if you don't get exploding bullets until the last few rounds (or not at all,) so you want to choose Thermo Bomb as soon as it comes up so you can unlock exploding bullets as an option. Once you have those, explosion range and damage is a no-brainer, but any time you get the option to take Combo, you grab it. A four bullet Volley with two levels of Combo and exploding bullets with even just one level of Penetration is a beautiful thing to behold. And to be honest, it's not that hard to get the pieces you need to pop off _as long as you can get your Thermo Bomb early enough,_ so prioritize it. Combo doesn't seem to show up a lot, but even without, you'll be doing well. The rest of the skills should mostly go to either the Drone or Fuel Bomb when possible. If it's a tough boss level, pay more attention to Guided Laser. Here's how I prioritize my choices - In order: Size, duration, stun, speed, damage, ignite, split at end for the Drone. Again, in order: Size, amount, cooldown, burning damage for Fuel Bomb (the only time I take ignition damage is if the only other option is a skill I don't want.) You get it by now: Focus, number of hits, damage, refraction, explosion for Guided Laser. I don't often level Thermo Bomb much, since I mostly grab it for the bullets, but it's not a bad skill by any means. Amount, cooldown, explosion radius, explosion damage, impact damage/knockback, impact damage for it. Hope someone finds this helpful. I don't profess to be great at this game, this is just what's been working for me. I know the plan hinging on getting exploding bullets is a weakness, but I figure any build is going to be looking for a specific skill(s) anyway, and gun=fun. 🤪 Why yes, I am from Florida, how'd you know?

Save stamina for stamina spending events. Upgrade all your Mercenaries equally, since they only boost your main attack. Fuel Bomb is your friend till 40+ stages. Lock on the gems that you are using on your build so you don't lose them when merging them.

Crit rate affects skills, too. The assault guy is boss, he does 80% your damage as a purple.

lock your gems so you don’t accidentally merge it with others. I normally lock only the purple and up. I don’t care for the green ones.
