Bypassing The Factory Radio And Amplifier In A 2005 Chrysler Grand Voyager. Upgraded To Bluetooth, A2DP and DAB With The Alpine CDE-136BT

This video is a bit different for us. We have a really great customer with lots of new Audi & VW vehicles but still has an old school Chrysler for ferrying the kids about. Having had no luck doing it himself he gave us the challenge.
So with the original CD Radio (P05091610AC) you had to have a data signal to turn on the amplifier to actually get any sound of the speakers. This can only be achieved by the factory radio. In this conversion we have removed the stereo and amplifier (05091006AE 36670C) and fitted one of our special looms that bypasses this function and then fitted the Alpine CDE-136BT so the customer could get Digital Radio, Bluetooth and most importantly, Music Streaming via Spotify!!
The end result was actually very impressive and the sound quality was awesome for a vehicle that is over 10 years old!

Great video thanks but has anybody landed here because they have power to the factory head unit but no sound? I had that exact problem and just replaced the stock amplifier behind the rear RHS back speaker (other KZfaq clips will show where that is and how to get to it). Problem solved with a stock unit from the local auto wrecker. Looking at the amplifier that I removed, condensation/corrosion had made some contacts short out on the circuit board.

In case it helps because I'm currently in this process myself (2007 Grand Voyager, right hand drive)... I had to remove the rear right speaker to find the amp. Have also seen the "quick bypass on pin 87 in the fuse box" method, and as others have mentioned, I also have no such relay. Don't ask about anything more than that... my car is currently naked while I figure out my next step!

U have 2 options a bus controller 70$ on Amazon or a bypass 35 metra

There's a violet and white wire that's the bus controller it's ur computer if u hook ur power remote to it 12 v it will burn ur computer up don't do it do the smart thing buy the wire bypass kit

I've been trying to figure out a worl around for days for this but unfortunately the amp is controlled by the bus system wich sends and receives info from the computer trying to tap in to it will send power back to ur comp and fry it

Strange! I don't have a Voyager, but I do have a 07 Town & Country and I can NOT find the factory amp in the rear. I was told it was on the rear passenger side and nothing was there. The only thing I saw was the AC blower motor. Is it possible it could be on the other side???

Hi great video but I have a problem with my install. I installed some aftermarket 6x9 speakers in the rear and front doors but I didn’t do it to the dash later I got a aftermarket stereo installed and my dashboard speakers don’t emit sound out of them. What am I missing?

So this looks about the problem with my 05 Chrysler Town and Country. My stereo powers on with no sound. Swap to factory and it's fine. With this amp bypass, what are you using? Aftermarket amp or power via the stereo?

Ok looking good. Got only few question's before ordering this. This wiring is using cars own speakers via your new aftermarket stereo after you've installed it? If so it sounds good. And ofcourse there will be proper installation instructions with the cables?

+Advanced In-Car Technologies Alright, so what wires go to what others connecting the new stereo unit to the factory wires? Do you have a diagram for how it was done?

I've tried the plug and play thing, i got an adapter to it and nothing, although i hadn't got the right adapter for the radio connection, so i'll try that next time i crack it open.

Well, i had just plugged in the aftermarket unit without taking out the amp in the back. It showed that it won't function if the factory unit is not present. So my concern is that wiring up the connections from where the amp was and directing those wires to the new unit up front with some extensions, is that right?

Alright, so how do I ge this cable? I've already plucked out the amp before to take snapshots. And can it be sent to Sweden? :)
