Prof Cook rocks. He helped me like no other. It took him/me 20 years for me to be fit free but the journey was well worth it. I trust him like no other. Thank you Mark

Thank you for this talk professor. I've been epileptic for over forty year and will probably be dead before these terrific advances come out but it's good to hear about them.

At last, someone who's telling the truth. Drugs certainly ruined my life, it wasn't the condition that destroyed my life, it was the drugs. They made me so ill I couldn't function.

I stopped meds 10yrs ago gave up driving etc. Mine started through TBI in 2005 & I tried various meds which did or did not work but had side effects. I have just started a low-carb diet and was looking at keto. The Naturopath I am using treated her son with diet, she has studied medicine for 4yrs.

please read entier story I have Epilepsy absence seizure with that comes with a lot of stereotyping; you know the first thing that comes to mind is a person who is fitting on the ground. i have absence seizures. I was diagnosed at the age of five but have been seizure free since the age of fourteen and so was taken of meds which caused massive weight gain a hand tremor and memory loss the point is meds are good up untill a point an then it becomes a pill no pun intended. after my father died and the start of collage it seems I have had a relapse if that is possible. my parents were told to treat me as a normal child and to see how fare I would develop and look at me now I have graduated high school with honors though I did hope for a regents diploma but after taking the algebra common core regent seven times starting out with a 40 and ending up with a 57 oh well. I start collage on august 29th as you can infer I was not expected to do much of what I just mentioned.

No one should be dictated by their condition. Live life in spite of it. You are a person first and have epilepsy second

Hang in there. I hope there are new procedures for both humans and animals. I have a collie with epilepsy, darn thing is a ray of sunshine, I hope one day he can be cured, treatments thus far are only kinda working.

Apparently, you don't have seizures. I am a physician (retired) who suffers from partial seizures, on many meds. I would do anything to escape this disabling disease. This was a fantastic lecture!!!

Dear sizzlebiskits I hope you never discover the reality of epilepsy and discover how very much it is not a joke. I wish you good health always and as a grandmother may I take the liberty of reminding you that it costs you nothing to be kind and often creates opportunities for learning. All the best to you!

I wouldn't say joke. Rather that I think the brain implant that works like the one they give to heart patients, is an amazing solution to curing epilepsy. As someone with epilepsy, I would be beyond happy if I knew where to get this implant, and I would get it in a heartbeat just so I can be off the medication and lead a normal life. English is not my first language, I can't think of the English word for it... That's what epilepsy can do to a healthy, intelligent brain! 🙄

@@SoniaJbrt i am sorry you have had to face epilepsy in your life. i can tell you looking back to what i went through when i had seizures that I am grateful for that experience. i do think what this man is talking about is a joke. i think and have experienced just how harmful these doctors can be. i know what you are going through is hard. i also know what worked for me. educating myself was absolutely key towards my not having seizures anymore. please let me know if there is anything i can do to help you.
