Adventure Now S4 Ep1, sailing yacht Altor of Down from Essex to Peterhead in Scotland

Hello and welcome to a brand new season of Adventure Now!
For the fourth time we cast off the lines, leave our friends and families to enjoy new adventures. This year we start our journey from Mark's homeland, Essex. We say emotional good byes to Wendy, Mark's mum and our friend Adrian and his family, who wave us off as we leave Burnham Marina. We forge north at a quite a pace! We make one stopover in the favourite River Orwell and then embark on a four day passage all the way to Peterhead. Along the way up the east coast we are joined by little birds who seek shelter aboard Altor of Down, a Moody 44.
We reach Peterhead propelled by wind and diesel to enjoy another stay in this town that is quite special to us.
Filmed in 2023 using a Panasonic Lumix FZ1000, DJI Mavic Pro, a Rhode microphone and edited with iMovie.

Dziękujemy! Zostawiliśmy Essex daleko za nami, więc z głębokościà już lepiej. Popłynęliśmy z Peterhead przez Pentland Firth na Orkney, i z powrotem na mainland UK do Scrabster po nowe akumulatory. Bardzo tutaj ładnie! Pozdrawiamy!

Hi Craig 🤗 Great to hear from you and thanks so much for the warm welcome! I hope you are keeping well and already started your sailing season. We reached Orkeny a week ago but had to come back to mainland to pick up new batteries because our house battery bank failed and it would take to long to wait for the shipment in Stromness (up to 16 days!!!). So today we collected the new batteries and are waiting for the wind to take us to the Faroe Islands ⛵ All the best to you and your family x Asha & Mark

@@AdventureNow we had a pretty ropey start to the season with Gale after Gale in the Med but it looks like summer is just starting and we’re anchored in a protected anchorage under a volcano so things are looking up. Definitely stocking up on woolies and looking forward to some cooler cruising from 2024 😊⛵️

Mark was afraid it would affect the waterline of Altor but I distributed the supplies evenly so I think Altor is levelled. Love your Videos. We keep our boat "Slainte" on the Clyde. The word Slainte is pronounced more like "slanche" "Cheers in English" Looked like a fine drop of the stuff. Enjoy.

Glad you are back and will email you at some stage, as life moves quickly! btw sailed with Nick from Ipswich to Burnham in 30+ knots, and it was rough (in my humble opinion) so pretty sure I have sea legs. Hi Chris 🙃Hope you are keeping well and your tomato plantation is blooming 🤪Indeed, time flies when you're having fun! I'm jealous of your sea legs as I still depend on the sea sickness tablets! We have now been 3 weeks in the Faroe Islands, and visited all of our favourite places - Tvøroyri, Tórshavn, Hestur and Fuglafjordur. We are now in Fuglafjordur awaiting a favourable weather window to make it to the west coast of Iceland, and in the meantime enjoying this cool little town.
