I've been waiting a LONG time to go Pike fishing here again, and what a day it was! The lure I was using sent the pike crazy, the vibrations coming off it were unbelievable. Feels good to be home and back on the canal! Spot hopping has to be one of the funnest ways to fish, as you can cover quite a few likely spots in a much smaller window of time. Nice one George,the first pike you landed was the same one you lost,the drone footage is epic mate,subscribed to you from your first video as you fish waters local to me,you even gave me and my little girl a top water frog whilst we were fishing the canal near kendal,so glad to see your channel growing strong,you deserve it pal 👊🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I think the first one was quite a bit bigger mate, swam off in the opposite direction after it came off! Glad you're enjoying the drone footage it's good fun to use. I'm glad you remember the frog, I never knew that was you! Means a lot that you've been watching since the beginning 👍

Hey George. I've been a boater on that canal for 30 years moored at cabus for 25 years and now further up at bridge 77. Since watching you I've been inspired got a spinning rod and had a go but no luck. Have a go at bridge 77 opposite my boat Marmaduke and see if you can bag anything cos I'm convinced there isn't any thing there🤣🤣🤣 best wishes

You should pre bait the area every day you're on your boat mate won't take long for the baitfish to start gathering there and the pike won't be far behind! I'll see if I can find your boat next time i'm on the canal 👍

Mate good vid. Just my thoughts, but you have to experiment with your retrieval. Let it sink, fast retrieve, slow pops, hard pops, erratic twitches. Hunting fish targets something that looks weird, either food or a threat. Many times hunting fish will grab the lure just when you want to retrieve it out of the water, because it looks like a bait fish going to the surface eating a bug, thus looking like the bait fish isn't on guard, less energy for hunting.

Great lures I have had so many pike on them in the last 2 years can’t go wrong with them even lost a salmon on one in February this year

Always amazes me when they put a huge bend in the rod but still come off!! That rod isn’t cheap either, I keep meaning to replace my Advanta £30 light lure rod but it keeps on going and does the job 😀

Me too! Yeah you definitely don't need to spend big money on rods to go fishing, i've always thought that. It's like driving a car, all of them get you from A to B but I imagine it would be fun to drive a ferrari. Much like it is to use a specialist rod 👍

Thanks mate! Just stick at it and keep trying, target places like basins and boat turning circles if you fish canals, and the bigger ones shouldnt be too far!

Just getting into pike fishing had an absolute massive pike follow my lure yesterday gutted I didnt catch him but seeing it so close was amazing any tips for a beginner pike fisherman haha
