My grandfather Albert G. Dignum was stationed in Terlingua as a member of the Texas Natl Guard in 1916 at age 17. during the Pancho Villa raid on Columbus NM. He later went to France in WWI as a member of the 36th (Texas/Oklahoma) Infantry Division in the Meuse-Argonne offensive. He was on the front for 21 days then the Armistice was signed on 11.11.1918 (@11:11 am)

I have been twice. The starlight theater is amazing! Fun music and grate food. Also great photo spots. I would also recommend going too far flung. Great tours including jeep and kayak tours.

@@darrellcollins4054 property can be very expensive but getting land just outside of town on telingua ranch is very possible. Jobs tend to be fairly easy to find if you are into the tourism business.

The people that live in and around Terlingua have a different view about tourism then most places, the natural and man made resources get scarce real quick, especially gas and water when huge influxes of people show up.
@solorvliving21182 жыл бұрын
Thank you for sharing that. I think it makes sense to want to preserve resources for local folks in the area and be a bit cautious of tourism. I grew up in Arizona and now wonder if we should have been a bit more protective about water.
