Join us as we explore Terlingua Ghost Town. Abandoned in the 1940's after a decline for the need of mercury. We will see a boothill cemetery, church, abandoned ruins and the culture that currently exists there.

I'm 59 my wife is older in bad health, tell her that when she dies, I'm kicking all her Free Loading Family members out of the house, Selling it we owe nothing on it.. moving to a place like that. I have taken care of people all my life tired of it. I will get me a good use RV for $25,000 build a roof on it add solar panels, get a rain water system set up, get 1 year of food supply at a time.. I get $1500 a month in S.S.D.I and state pension, here it takes every bit of it there will be a lot lest

Hard to believe it's been 16 years since I installed those fans in the Trading Co. and kept my office at the end of the alley.

Last time I was in Terlingua the theater was an empty building. The store was being worked on as was the church. Looks good now 40 years later. A lot more folks there now.

Those "screws" on the spoon are there because it comes with a knife and fork which have holes that align with the screws and stack to lock together under the spring tension, to form a part of a "mess kit" for camping, backpacking, etc.

Tid-bit of trivia: Terlingua was the setting of the movie Frank and Penelope directed by Texas own native son, Sean Patrick Flanery.

how much does property going for there nowdays? I live in Houston and almost bought some back 40 or 45 years ago but just now retired. I don't really care where it is, the further out the better I'm self sufficient in the desert or the forests.

@throughkenslens79722 жыл бұрын
Bring everything you can but there is a decent grocery in Terlingua. Just a bit expensive.

Music too loud (common editing mistake) One has to be the feature (your dialog or the music) not both.
@throughkenslens79725 жыл бұрын
BigDawg Cleveland Thanks for the input. I didn’t shoot this with the intent of ever posting or I would have done things differently. I’ve since invested in an external mic to address that issue. Cheers!
@PR44705 жыл бұрын
You've got some real issues if you're complaining about music being too loud for 0:17 seconds of a 16:27 minute video!!! 🙄

Come on. All the time in the world and you RUSH the video.!! You don't even leave enough time to read your opening sign. You're on an item and BAM, off it, giving no time to examine anything on this land.!!!
