Absolutely right, music comes first. If it is sounding good it is the right way. You don't insist on any "orthodox" way and let the music do the talking. You really are ace ✌✌✌👍👍

When I asked Moreno Winterstein about the picking technique, he said exactly what Robin is teaching here. He added, 'As long as it is strong, then play it.'

Nice to come across this Robin. Love your definition of a good pick - one that doesn't give! Sensible advice about good picking technique - the criterion is whether it sounds good.

If you're using the 'floating wrist' technique (i.e. the palm of your right hand does not touch the strings) how do you prevent the strings from ringing? Do you do all the damping with the left hand?

Comfortable with the pick? I don't any player was comfortable with a pick when they started. Surely that comes with time. And, drawing on that classical guitar student. When a student first encounters the classical guitar right hand position, it certainly doesn't feel natural but centuries of trial and error have shown it to be the best way to play.

I think it sounds like any other classical guitar, i guess it depends on how or who's playing it

it's not that easy bro, I wish it was. That's a damn good gipsy beast (both the player and the instrument)

Alex Duper Its not a classical guitar. And it doesnt sound like one either. a) the strings of a gypsy guitar are different. b) these are picked not plucked c) the guitar is manufactured differently

Too much irrelevant talk and you didn’t teach anything. “This is a big topic and I’m. It gonna go too far into it” you didn’t get into it at all!

He DID teach..you didn't pay attention. He's giving those of us permission to use the picking techniques that we've grown up learning/developing without overthinking e.g. If you've developed a strong alternate technique over the years and as long as you're accentuating the notes with proper dynamics in phrases such as Nuages "using downstrokes"in places, then you're in good shape to pursue the style..
