+1 for Campers Inn (Madison)....horrible! The finance guy sold $300 from us in fees. You are lucky that your dealer sent your title.....ours forgot to process it and we were 30 days late in filing the registration. It took us visiting several times asking for the title. We moved over to service........even worse. During our "90 day" complimentary service (and any warranty issues addressed).....they assigned a tech who actually damaged our unit beyond the warranty issues. Lies after lies.....I will never allow a Campers Inn dealer to touch my unit! Sometimes even with research.....things are just out of your control.

Best advice I got was, travel for a year before you put the house on the market. We realized we are not cut out for full time rv living. I thank the Lord every day that we didn’t sell.

I'm a retired truck driver, and I think 80% of tow capacity is too high. A good rule of thumb is to never exceed 75% of your vehicles towing capacity. Also, make sure your brake controller is set up properly...I can't stress that enough.

My wife says she is 4'11" but... 😂. Good tips for buying an RV. Buying in cash is the way to go, and the dealers hate it.

I bought what I wanted after watching a lot of y-t videos. I love my rig (LTV 2018UTB) but I would not recommend the dealer (Johnson RV Sandy OR). Paid way too much. My advice is if you found what you want and it's perfect, go home and think about it. The "deal" might go away by tomorrow but likely will not or you can find another somewhere else.

Hehehe The Dealer is a BIG DEAL. My dealer was WAY BAD. Love my unit, LOVE my layout. It’s a GD unit. This is my 5th unit, Best Unit, the worst dealer EVER.

Great video and advice. We did our own research on the camper we purchased(it’s our 2nd) and bought it used, but in excellent condition. We only use it 5 months out of the year.

Great video. The only advantage I see with an RV show is, you can have access to an array of floorplans in one spot. This can be a time saver. We are looking at getting an Alliance in the fall and are going to find a dealer to buy it from not an rv show.

Our first trailer bought at a show, our vehicle was very undersized, at delivery very poor instructions for newbie’s. Took a long multi state trip with weight distribution and sway bar totally incorrect. About wrecked many times, “ tail wagging the dog “. Tell people to demand good instructions and take notes. Could save your life.

I’ve been researching for the past year, truck and Rv. I haven’t made my mind up yet, looking at fifth wheels under 36’. Thanks for your advice even when I do decide I will have it inspected. I had a 2012 Class A and sold it in 2021 had a lot of issues but the buyer I sold it to got a solid unit because I had every issue fixed. New vs. used is a joke they all have issues, but with new you have a warranty so you must use it extensively the first year and also must be handy to do your own repairs. No way would I finance if you can’t afford it don’t buy it! Great advice on this video!

Smaller is better!! Too many people getting Huge 5vrs or trailers toy haulers!! And can’t manage them!!

I once had a 30ft 5vr that would have been perfect for ft as well as weekend warrior. With only 26 ft behind the truck, it was easy to drive & manuver . . .

Good information the way respectfully disagree about buying new verses used. Too many quality control problems with new RVs the last few years but to each their own. Where in New Hampshire are you from? Nashua here.

Hahaha Campers inn sucks to deliver campers to. I went there to deliver um well not 1 person wanted to help. Normally we go check in with the he front desk i did they're well they basically chewed me out, boy you talking about me showing my butt in front of customers but in a nice way. I need a signature to deliver to get paid. Customer's let as i have then heck. I never delivered their again. Right down by Ocean Lakes i delivered to that one.

@@liferedesigned I delivered more to Camping World, they was a nicer bunch of people no matter what state I was in to deliver. Phoenix was 107 that one morning and the Lady was nice as can be and still done an excellent job inspecting inside and out of the 5th wheel.

It's funny you brought up CampersInn in Myrtle Beach. We also bought our travel trailer from them it was a preowned and the manager was awful, probably the worst person for the job. I just about had to call a lawyer I know to deal with the situation. Our sales rep was amazing though.

@@liferedesigned true 🤣 I'm not sure how half of them stay in business. A sales rep at Camping World told me my F-150 could pull anything and tried to sell us a 10k lbs trailer. Needless to say we did not return.

I disagree with negativity about RV SHOWS. we’ve gone to three and the main reason to go to show is so you can see more models, more brands than at you local RV Dealer.

There really is nothing to disagree with about RV shows. Yes, you are correct - you see more variety due to the vendors that pay to compete there. The facts that we gave though are accurate. The majority of the sales force for the national dealers are brought in from outside regions, the prices are still available outside the show and you have a much better purchasing experience outside of these shows. If you enjoy the shows, have fun. But for this video which is simply our opinion, we highly recommend skipping the shows to make a purchase.

Love your vids. Please LEVEL out your volume a little on 'em! Your music and intro are 4X as loud as your volume thru the video. Had volume set for last vid post intro, and nearly pissed myself when it kicked in! Then had to crank ya back up to hear what you were talking about!

So what do insurance companies consider as full time and how do they determine it?

You would want to talk with your insurance agent about that. We believe in 100% honesty when it comes to these matters with insurance. We called and told them exactly what our intentions were and how it would be used. Last thing you would want is a claim denied due to a technicality

Hey - I plan to buy a small RV in the very near future and head out across America. I've watched tons of videos over the last year-and-a-half and plan to establish residency in South Dakota based on information I've found in videos. I know you said you domicile in Florida. My question is: if you bought your RV right after leaving NH (I lived in Gilford and Hebron, NH for about 10 years), how did you work it with registering the RV? I'm wondering if I need to wait to purchase the RV until I have established residency in SD and gotten my address and drivers license there and THEN head out and purchase the RV....I'm looking at buying used from Cruise America at whatever location I find that has the perfect one for me, after getting it inspected. Thank you for any insight you can provide.

Honestly l, we slapped our NH plate from our Winnebago on to the new one and drove to Florida with it. A better option ( in hindsight) would have been a dealer temp plate. Most dealers are used to this situation and can help you.

Ours is a hair over 26 feet total length. We chose a travel trailer for a few reasons. Smaller form factor, 30amp and the ability (should we ever have a truck disaster) to be towed easily without special equipment. Congrats on listing! You are almost there! ❤️

One thing to consider when buying used, some states charge a flat rate for sales tax when you buy from a private owner. And it could save hundreds on sale tax as opposed to buying from a dealer.

Hey Greg, Bob here - To add to this, a great deal of this "quality" talk on social media and KZfaq especially comes down to the inexperience of the end user more so than quality control changes. We see it every single day. Rigs overloaded, Drivers that have zero experience. Blaming the builders is easy, owning the responsibility is hard for most people. Plus videos that say "We never had a problem" don't get clicks. Just some food for thought.
