My family has been traveling up and down 95 for over 40 years and we always stop at south of the border. It used to be better than it got worse now it’s getting better so love the signs. Look forward to it every time.

I appreciate your comments about it not being ALL bad. We've been looking for an RV and have considered BlueBird Wanderlodge, Foretravel, Airstream motorhomes, and just found Vogue Prima Vista. There are so many people that are like ... they are all trouble, if you can't turn a wrench, don't buy one, RVing requires DEEP pockets, etc. I have truly been shying away and wondering if we have the right idea. We want to start as those 'weekenders' like you've chatted with and sometimes it feels like these other people are throwing out a wet blanket and it will be more trouble than it's worth. Thanks for shining light. Crap happens with everything...our house might need a new AC unit. There's some deep pocket requirements! 😂

Absolutely! If we listened to naysayers we would still be spreading mulch and mowing our lawn instead of all the experiences we have had. Life is short - nobody’s headstone should read “ they took the easy route”

Bob, rant away! I oft times wonder if the KZfaq RV influencers aren't trying to get people to STOP RVing! I have unsubscribed from so many channels since finding the two of you. You make it real. You're not shilling product after product, or faking your lifestyle. Somewhere along the line people began to feel that telling the truth is unimportant. Thank you for doing what you do, sharing your life with others, and keeping it real!

Thanks Patty! I believe the real motivation beyond clicks is that they want to keep their audience after they come off the road. If they plant the seeds now, they believe that will still be followed when they move into a “home” I have talked to a few large channels that quit RV life and they all have said their channels tanked immediately. Money is sadly a bigger motivation to some than morals.

Yeah, watching KZfaq You would get the idea that all RVs fall apart. Well, last year I bought my first camper Trailer a jayco jayfeather SLS. I travel for work? So I'm not full-time but I do stay in my camper 4 or 5 days a week. Yeah, I had to take it in for some warranty work. But it's never been anything at a castrafect where trip was cut short or I couldn't stay in my camper.

Same here. We talk to so many people and hear the same thing. The crazy part is it has become so common for those videos to be done that people that don’t even own an RV will argue and say how they are all made to have catastrophic failures

We have been part time since 1984. Have always had an rv since . Will probably always be part time . Next year we got a 6 month trip planned to celebrate my wife and my retirement…. Keep on ranting. :)

We have been to Twin Lakes several times. Very quiet during our stays. Enjoy! We are not full timers but go 6 times a year for a week at a time.

I have the same complaints! Two youtubers come to mind. One of them I started watching because her and her now ex were traveling to different locations, I don't even know if she even travels anymore but her whole channel has turned into how bad the RV dealers and industry are. I don't even watch her anymore. The other is a couple that aren't full time but travel and somedays they put out this "attention grabbing" thumbnails that are nothing but complaints, occasionally an actual travel video. Its really turning into a circus of who can complain the loudest! Thank you for calling this out! Safe travels.

You nailed it! The first channel is exactly who we were referring to. Her content was never that great to begin with but found her "groove" with this negative side and fear mongering. The second one, that is becoming the trend for the current round of KZfaqrs. As for another fun game Bob likes to play ... "Spot the Fake Full-Timer" this is where channels pretend to be full time but aren't - why do they do it? Better sponsorships go to full timers lol. They pretend but then justify it because they say they are not once a year in a short or livestream lol.

There’s a free dump station there also in kenly 🎉🎉 our house is 20 minutes from there and we had to use that one time. It’s flat and wasn’t in a crowded area on the parking lot

Have ever looked under your Rv and checked the frame? I don’t want to fall into that frame group but it now has me worrying in the back of my mind. I want to crawl under my Grand Design 17MKE 2022 and look but I want to just keep the faith that it’s just not true.

Bob is under there about every 3 months or whenever we have a spot with a concrete pad. He was just under there at the park we left in this video, installing underglow lights (to keep out snakes lol, story for another time) and zero issues. Please do not worry, the complaints of "frame failure" is from 5th wheels.

@@liferedesigned I’ll be honest with you that’s how I was feeling that it’s the larger 5th wheel rv’s not the small travel trailers. Well until a video popped up on my channel and it’s from (Are we there yet?) channel. He has found cracks and shows them. Now my worries have returned AGAIN. I don’t want to be apart of this drama but when this video came forward it started all over again. I have a 2022 17MKE Grand Design that we purchased new. This weekend if not raining lol 😂 I’ll be under my Rv checking things out. I’m sure you are right and I’m worried for nothing but I guess I need to see it for myself.

Don’t know the channel but will say this - anytime we have seen issues like that on a mid tier travel trailer it was due to owner negligence. Most common cause - being over weight capacity of the rig

Dang nabbit!!! You guys are staying in the area I was hoping to be in right now (or around this time), making my first 'long term' (5-7 days) trip to get my feet wet in this RV lifestyle lollapalooza extravaganza. My search continues, but is on hold at the moment...a $1800 dentist bill will do that...as well as $600 needed for car maintenance. Meanwhile, my niece's brother-in-law just picked up a 5th wheel...grrrr...when is it my turn? lol... Bob, you seem a bit fired up. Don't sweat the small stuff, my guy; you and Karri just do your own thing and let the viewers figure it out on their own...to coin a popular phrase, "you can't fix stupid". I do appreciate the passion and energy, though. Your channel and "CheapRVliving" are the only 2 I'm subscribed to. I've watched about half a dozen others...just didn't have the 'vibe' to get me to subscribe. Take care and be safe...

If you are confirming your “findings” based on You Tubers, I can almost understand why you would be so upset ….lots of you tubers jump on the “everything sucks” bandwagon….it’s called getting clicks Edward! I agree with everything you say if people are going to put out negativity on camping in RVing, I just don’t watch them. They want to put up videos that are surprised as something broke or something started to drip some water. Well, you better go back to your sticks and bricks to me RV have the fun is the challenges that come with it

Absolutely! It has become so bad that if you put up a positive video about RV life, you get flooded with comments about how bad it is because of all the garbage videos out there. Calling out that nothing has happened to our RV in 2 years should never have to be done BUT people are people.

All the breakdowns I don’t get . We have had our rv for 17 years put 80k miles on it zero breakdowns! A 2001 Winnebago adventurer.. I’m hoping to put another 80k miles on it .

Exactly this! But again, it is the current trend to be negative for clicks. During the pandemic it was sensationalism because people wanted the escape - now that cost of living is high, people are struggling a bit and dont want to see others having a good time. So, you have the mess we have now

From watching RV Life videos I use to live 3.5 years in a 2000 Catalina Coachmen on Lake Hickory and Loved it.I would do it again. They're so many people ranting about RV Life and Van Life yeah some people say their quitting due to such and such well look at their Age they left highschool to live that life they have they're life to live yet. The life should be for us people already lived our life now we trying to enjoy what's left of it. So people cry about quitting the life I unfollow they need to grow up and learn life first.
