yes, most idols do choreo first then the song, if you saw the UNCUT for NCT you'll see Taeyong and other members considering the choreo if it's intense in some parts they do the vocals lightly. it's really interesting. (English isn't my first language please excuse any mistakes)

I really love how SM releases behind the scenes of their recordings more often now. It's so fascinating to hear SM artists sing because they sound really the same and amazing both in raw and CD vocals. So amazing. Taemin's voice is heavenly, too

I keep thinking back years ago when Jjong would help Taemin with his vocals. To this day, I hear a bit of Jjong in Taemin's tone. He'd be so proud of where Taemin is now and how he's almost like his own genre.

When he goes up higher without intentionally being breathy, it's impossible to tell the difference between him and Jonghyun. Noticed that when I got into them in early 2017. They have the most unique voices but if anyone could be confused it would be Jonghyun and Taemin. I needed the color coded videos to help me do it at the beginning for those two at certain ranges. Otherwise, Jonghyun and Taemin have completely different voices. It comforts me when I listen to new SHINee songs.

As a Shawol since Replay, his vocal growth makes me cry every time he has a comeback. Boy went from weakass vocalist in a vocal-monster group to one of the best and most unique soloists today

His vocal control is insane. He has a very unique distinctive vocal tone and color. He also uses different techniques like vocal frying and vibrato whenever it fits the best and has an immense control over his breath/breathing. He's also very quick to adjust to the key he's singing in and does all this while being very expressive through his voice. A very rare vocalist, a true legend Taemin

태민이는 진짜 한번 좋아하기 시작하면 라이트하게 좋아하는게 안되고 핵코어되는 것 같아...나 연예인 좋아해보는 것도 처음이고 입덕한지도 얼마 안됐는데 태민이 진짜 알면 알수록 너무 멋있고 또 본업 잘하는걸 넘어서서 마인드 자체도 배울점이 많아서 좋아하는 동시에 존경하게 됐음..ㅜㅜ 사람 자체가 너무 멋있어

진짜요 한번 좋아하기 시작하면 라이트하게 나 요새 너무 좋아~ 정도로 좋아하지 못하고 무조건 태민이가 신이다 케이팝재림예수다 ㅠㅠ 하며 좋아하게 되는 것 같아요 뭐 춤 잘 추고 노래 잘부르고 논란 없고 다 좋지만 진심이 잘 보이는 것 같아요 무대든 팬들을 대하는 태도든... 그래서 마지못해 모든 걸 내어줄만큼 사랑할 수 밖에 없는 ㅜㅜ 솔로 무대 잘한다 수준이 아니라 정말 본인이 진심을 다해서 매 앨범을 만들고 무대를 하니까 그게 보는 사람들에게도 전해져서 단순히 상업적 아이돌이랑은 차별화가 되는 것 같아요 무대에 진심인만큼 팬들한테도 잘해줘서 온 마음 깊이 사랑하게 되는 것 같아요 또 팬들 사랑해주면서도 착하고 귀엽고 사랑스러움이 자연스러운 사람이라 무대와 일상에서의 갭차이도 장난 아니고요... 나 다 쓰고 보니 태민이에 미친 사람 같네... 맞아요 저 미쳤어요^^ (태민이 따라하기로 마무리..)

i love how taemin and the producer were going back and forth together to get the perfect sound and vibes for each song, like when he asked him if he was trying to talk about how he's matured now or to express how he felt in the past. i thought it was neat because not everyone would ask that type of question, and it seemed to help taemin get across the feelings he wanted to express ^_^

I love how Taemin makes a mistake and is like “죄송합니다” and the music pd from the other side just plays it again and he starts singing again without missing a single beat after a sweet smile. If that doesn’t show 13 years of experience then I don’t know what will.

I am in love with Taemin's entire aura and persona. I have honestly been a fan of many people throughout my life, but the kind of energy that I receive from watching Taemin is hard to match. I just know that I will never regret becoming a fan, the moment I decided to support him, it was for life.

Taemin is a true artist, and it's obvious the producer knows how to get the best out of him. Look at how he asked Taemin to draw on his emotions, so he could create the right vibe for Sad Kids. And Taemin being Taemin, caught on straightaway, and delivered.

태민의 무대가 대단한게 퍼포먼스 측면은 말할것도 없고 곡에 대한 이해가 굉장히 뛰어나고 자신의 컴플렉스였던 노래 실력마저도 극복하고 이제는 작곡가 작사가에게 오히려 영감을 줄 수있는 경지에 이르렀음 완벽한 무대를 만들기 위해서 지난 십수년간 얼마나 인고의 시간을 보냈을지.. 감히 상상도 못하겠음

This kid was teased as tone-deaf but really, he has good ears. Reminds me of the piano teacher praising him during Budokan. I don't follow other idols so I have no right to compare him to them but he's really more than idol. He's a true artist. He's paying attention to every detail so he can convey the message of the songs to the listeners.

@@jasan_o3633 I know, but he started to learn the piano even before his debut, that's why I think it was just a careless insult. He was going through his puberty when SHINee was about to make their debut, so he was not able to take vocal lessons because of his voice change. Therefore, he focused on practicing dancing instead. Someone even said that he didn't have a singing voice. It motivated him to work harder and now here he is. I mean, he even participated in Immortal Song (2012) though he was not the main vocalist in his group.

Yes! Also, his charisma! He's got that "it" factor - he is very beautiful but there is more to it. When Taemin is around, on stage or just hanging out somewhere, it is really hard to drag your eyes away from him.

SM had made really bad decisions with his solo career. Instead of forming SuperM, they've should've tried to push Taemin's solo career more and give him a tour in Europe and USA. He has so many fans around the world.

@@solasluna192 I think that is the beat thing SM did to him aside of giving him a solo career at the very young age. If I am not mistaken Taemin was the first artist in a male group who was given a solo career as a singer and from that point because Taemin solo career was successful they made let others have a solo career as a singer too. Also back to your comment, SM did the right thing for letting him in the SuperM, it makes him more popular in Western Kpop fan because of SuperM. If you try to re-watch all the member teaser of SuperM you can see Taemin is included in all members teaser, it only shows how SM treasures Taemin. I really hate to see this but one of SM favorites solo artist from them as a singer aside from BoA is Taemin. Taemin is like the epitome of a complete package of a pop idol, he can dance and sing and got charisma on stage with an IT factor. It seems like they saw Taemin as a male version of BoA. Have you not ever wonder why Taemin got debuted at the very young age with SHINee at the age of 14/15? Maybe they saw a great potential of him that they don't want to wait longer for him to debut in EXO because they need him to evolve as an artist at a very young age, because tbh SM cannot debut him in 2008 as a solo artist because he was still lacking at those times but being him in a group will make him evolve as an artist. Taemin solo career must already been a set up by SM from very beginning. Now let us wait what would SM do with him after his military service.

싱잉랩 어려웠다더니..기계음은 무슨 진짜 음원이랑 별 차이가 없다 대박이다....... 와 SAD KIDS 보컬은 뭐야 진짜? 태민이 보컬 느낌이 진짜 부드러우면서 날카로운 느낌을 다 표현할 수 있다보니 너무 매력적이다 씨디 씹어먹다 못해 라이브 자체다 라이브... 게다가 발음 하나하나 디테일도 고민하고 느낌살리려 해주는게 진짜 프로페셔널ㅠㅠㅠㅠ

이번 앨범 미니에 5곡이지만 쉬운노래는 하나도 없는데다 보컬이 정말 5곡 다 달라서 새삼 태민님이 노래를 얼마나 잘 부르는지 깨닫게 되었어요. 힙합 감성 가득한 advice의 날리는 싱잉랩 부터 팝적인 light, 꽁냥꽁냥 귀여운 감성의 If I could tell you, 끈적하고 촉촉한 strings, 그리고 담백하고 애절한 SAD KIDS까지. 레코딩 영상 보니 어려운데도 많은 고민과 노력을 퍼부어서 탄생 한 앨범인게 더더욱 느껴져서, 이런 앨범 남겨준 태민이한테 너무 고맙게 느껴집니다. 진짜, 고생했고 수고했어요 태민님.

8:09 I came for this. This highnote is so hard to do and i couldn't tell that clearly in the CD version. It's long and gets progressively higher but Taemin manages to keep his voice stable and clear... KING!

단지 그냥 노래를 부르기만 하는게 아니라 뭘 표현하고자 하는가를 고민하고 그걸 담아낸다는게 진짜 아티스트적인 부면인거같아 그게 음악이든 미술이든 스타일링이든 모든 창작활동에서 뭔갈 만들어내는 것 단지 그게 아니라 표현하고자하는걸 작품에 담아낼 때 예술활동이라 생각하는데 그런 면에서 태민은, 특히 솔로로서의 태민은 대단한 아티스트라고느껴저

His interpretative skills are really on the next level. Taemin may not have the strongest voice, but the way he can work with it to show so many different shades of emotions is absolutely astonishing for me! From the first moment I heard his vocals I fell in love with his singing completely and for eternity. Taemin you are an amazing vocalist and artist, I love you and your music. Thank you for everything you do.

어제까진 태민 춤이었는데 오늘부터 태민 노래로 갈아탄다... 이번 앨범 보컬 다 너무 좋은데 새드키즈는 진짜 특히 ㅠㅠ 마지막 애드립부분 벅차오름ㅜㅜㅜ 춤 노래 다되는 가수 너무 짜릿해

"Just get rid of the cuteness" hahahah reminds me of how Kibum always says how Taem tends to sing in a particular cutesy tone. But that said, gosh, Taem, looking back 13 years ago, look how far he's come. Vocals are incredible, such an amazing all-rounder.

머리 쫑 묶은거 셜록 때 느낌나고 좋다. 울 애기는 그때랑 웃는게 똑같아 순해.. 비하인드들 보면서 항상 느끼는 거지만 참 선해 무해해. 일도 저렇게 잘하면서..쌩으로 듣는 꿀보이스 정말 감동임..ㅠ 벌써 보고싶다 태미니.

태민이가 한번도 해본적 없는 싱잉랩을 할때 예상을 했지만 녹음할때 애 진짜 많이 먹었구나...한국어 발음에 영어 발음에 톤도 신경써야하고 안무랑 느낌도 봐야하고...단순히 그냥 와 얘는 진짜 못하는게 없구나라고 보이는 모든면에서 그렇게 되기까지 노력을 정말 많이 하는구나

메이킹이 항상 너무 좋은게 태민이 귀엽고 멋진모습은 무대나 예능에서 이미 많이 봐서 화려한데 이렇게 메이킹에서는 인간 태민이 보여져서 너무 좋은 것 같아요 녹음장면 중에 어떤감정으로 부를건지 대화 나누는 것도 인상적이네요 작사나 작곡을 직접하지 않더라도 부르는 사람의 마음을 담고 있어서 앨범 들을때도 그게 잘 느껴져요 이럴때 보면 또 천상 노래하는 가수구나 싶네요

It's fascinating watching artists in making, especially a skilled on like TAEMIN. I can clearly see how detail oriented he is and he knows his craft really well that changing a little bitnin tone change the feeling of one specific line. And these types of WIP videos will help us appreciate the work much more

He’s an amazing vocalist, I truly love his vocal tone - it’s so unique and soulful - and the way he uses his voice is really fascinating (he has such a deep understanding of colour and texture, we can really see his talent and experience here). I love his music and I consider him one of the best vocalists nowadays.

I’m still coming back to watch this recording session. It’s so satisfying seeing Taemin in his element. I really hope once his enlistment is finally over and once he feels better he’ll gift us with another masterpiece of an album with his beautiful, soulful voice.
