remember how we used to do it? cutting pictures out of magazines and printing things to have them in our hands :’-) print your pictures and try making a physical moodboard instead of browsing on pinterest or instagram for inspiration! I show off a type of inspiration archive I’ve put together recently with a flip-through, and then I follow up with a few thoughts on the merit of physical media and separating our inspiration from the everything else of our phones and computers. I hope you enjoy, it was a fun video to put together 🌟
xx, Ida

I love this! sometimes I feel a little scattered and overwhelmed by all these little meaningful objects and ephemera because I don’t know how to capture it all, so I really enjoy the this idea!

Interesting! I have a lot of little papers and things from outside exploring that could find a home in something like this!

Thank you for reminding about easy access to flow of inspiration! Love the pinterest and instagram and using it heavily this year for my knitting&crochet journey and cementing personal fashion style. But you are so right for wanting to slow down and something that is a social platform that profits from you staying in it longer and never ending scrolling can stops you from creating. With albums like this you already picking more intentionally.

I’ve made 12+ pairs of Rose City Roller ankle socks… it’s such a quick, portable project, so I get what you mean by repeating a similar process over and over… I think it’s quite meditative & soothing

I feel that we are focused way too much on taking space and gathering things in case of moving etc that we forgotten how pleasurable it is to keep stuff 🙂👌

It is indeed a great and innovative way to archive them physically and also virtually in a video! Four years ago when I graduated from uni, I decided to be an artist. I had this idea if I call myself an artist, I can be an artist. The burden was a lot and I had to produce instead of create, tried to sell my art and to be honest they were not such valuable to me cause I paint/make them with the thought that they’ll be in my portfolio or I can sell them. Years later, my vision towards art and being an artist has been change and to be honest Ida’ ideas has influenced me. From what I gained, my type of art is way too personal and needs lots of time developing before sharing out. I wish you a very bright and refreshing spring! Love love love.
