You said when to turn onto base, but I didn’t hear you say when to turn onto final. Is it when the runway is 45 degrees in front of you?

Thanks for your question! There is no real set guideline on when “exactly” to call when you are on final. That’s more of a pilot’s judgement. I normally try to make my ‘final’ call about half the length of my base leg.
