Very well done. Ive been an electrician since1987. I was apprentice of the year but I think thats beyond old school. I want to learn this arduino stuff and you are teaching an old dog new tricks. Thank you. You get a new sub.

The only really "hard" stuff is getting into the programming part. But it makes everything so much easier. Arduino has been a game changer. Much easier than programming boards for the earlier microcontrollers and the programming language upgraded from assembler. Once you get a decent understanding of the little things, you'll never go back to classical setups. Also the upgrade from Arduino to ESP8266 and ESP32 is negligible. The ESP having much more power and wifi setups. For the last step you can go Raspberry Pi. That's basically half way between micro PC and Arduino. You can run Linux on it, while still having the IO pins of the modern microcontrollers. If you're a tinkerer, you'll love it.

Awesome videos! Looking forward to the next video. If you get some time, please create 30-second Shorts for each video and upload. It should result in more users swinging by to watch the full videos.

I have considered this, going to look into what would be good content for shorts. Perhaps progress updates for upcoming projects.

personal preference but I would cycle length 855000. That way it is a 15 minute complete cycle and runs the same time every hour. I've also previously added a flashing led more frequently so i know the system is running but between cycles using similar code to the blink without delay program. Appreciate you leaving the troubleshooting process in the video.

Hi my friend, you think with a little twist can be program a 110v pump to turn on for 10sec, every hour,? thanks great video

Die Wassertropfen sind viel zu groß für die Vorteile von aeroponic. Hol dir feine zerstäubungs düsen, und eine 24v Hochdruckpumpe mit 8 Bar. Statt rohr geht easy push in system

Don't forget the snubber diode for the relay coil. Your Nano won't last long without it

thanks for the tip! I plan on updating the circuit diagram for part 4 of this series. I'll look into adding a snubber

No idea what you would call this but it is not Aeroponics. Aeroponics is a mist of water. Though appreciate the details.

You know you could have just use a shelly relay and be done with it...
@HHCIB

This is true, a relay controlled over wifi would certainly have been an effective out of the box solution.

Aeroponics doesn’t spray water droplets, it sprays a fine mist…

Agreed, this was my first attempt at this type of project. Admittedly this is just sprinkling water on the roots. In a future video I plan on building a version 2 of this system which will include better nozzles.

@@HHCIB Another way you can achieve spraying fine mist is to use a Ultrasonic Mist Maker for around $3

@@HHCIB I`d go with your first idea, ideally an RO booster pump and better nozzles :) Great bit of electronics and nicely explained. I built my own 555 based cycle timers back in the day, i mainly use cheap chinese dc cycle timers these days, 0.1 second increments , count down led display, mosfet outputs (no mechanical relay) and cost almost nothing.

Thanks, I appreciate you saying that :) It has been fun so far to work on this project. I plan to take the things I have learned and iterate on this build as well as create newer improved versions.
